This week at
the challenge is "Feature Fun Folds!" and when I saw that I immediately groaned and thought to myself, "Who picked this dumb challenge?" And then I realized it was me.
Bah. Remind me to never pick this one again. At least I'm not making the folds having to be too much fun. All that's need is more than one fold. The time I had trying to make something DT hosting worthy for this challenge! I did make one card....but there were a number of things I didn't like about it so I didn't want to use it for this challenge. (You'll definitely see it in future for a LRW challenge, just not a week I'm hosting.) Then, after three failed attempts in which I kept scoring the paper wrong, I managed a little treat box. I when I say little, I mean little. I decided it was much too inconsequential to be used as a DT post, much less a DT hosting post. (Though, if I'm running late, and don't get anything made for a challenge and the box will fit it, you know I'm gonna end up posting it.)
I was fast running out of time, so I decided to stop trying to set THE BEST DT EXAMPLE EVER and just make something that would do, that I wasn't going to retch at when I posted it. And, this is what that was....
I thought I was being all clever, having the image panel be able to tuck under the sentiment, therefore, having the card lay flat. As you can see, that just made the left side pop up. blarg
Here's a shot of the fact that it does indeed have more than one fold. It has a whole two folds. *tiny sarcastic yay*
I do love this image though. That bear does look like he's feeling under the weather. Not only does he have a hankie, he's wearing his bunny slippers too. But, no pants. That's okay though. Pretty sure bears would have a difficult time finding comfy pants, and no one wants to not be able to just snuggle up all cozy when they're sick. Bears included. Digi is from Mo's Digital Pencil and the sentiment is from Create With TLC.
So, why not give our challenge a go this week and join us? And, if you'd like more inspiration, be sure to check out what the Girlfriends have made.

Ha! Had me smiling with this post. So...I'll keep my eyes peeled for another fold card and a little box in future posts. I suspect they are not as bad as you think (in fact, I'm sure of it). As for this card, if you hadn't of mentioned the fold problem, I wouldn't have noticed and I seriously doubt whoever you sent it to would either. It's a great card! Love the image and the sentiment is perfect. Your coloring coordinates with your paper wonderfully.

ReplyDeleteWell, I loved this challenge. My card is a little wonky, and I had trouble getting pictures, but it was just so much fun and this comment is not about me. It is about your darling fun 2 fold card and that poor sweet bear. I LOVE it! Look forward to seeing the other creations too.

ReplyDeleteSorry that the fun part seems to have gone astray during your Feature Fun Folds. However, the final choice is a fabulous one. I just want to cuddle that sweet bear (and perhaps steal his slippers). Super card!!

ReplyDeleteI have a sign in my craft room that says 'don't overthink it' - and sometimes it actually works!
Love your card though, and the sweet, but grumpy bear. I would call the left side popping up, a unique design feature :o)
