S is for Stencil! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Imke's turn to choose the challenge and she's continuing to take us through the alphabet with this week being "S is for Stencil!".

This is what I did....

I don't think I'll ever be good at using a stencil, but this is probably my best go so far.  Word die, stamps and stencil are all from Lawn Fawn.

Why not give our challenge a go this week and join us?  And, if you'd like more inspiration, be sure to check out what the Girlfriends have made.

Also for:

Tell Her About It @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Kate's turn to choose the challenge and she's continuing on with Billy Joel songs as her challenge themes with this week being, "Tell Her About It" which means she would like to see those makes that feature a letter or postcard or phone or email or any form of communication.

This is what I did.....

I found this letter as part of a piece patterned paper and paired it with an elf, who obviously works in Santa's Workshop's Mail Department, from Mo's Digital Pencil.

Use a Frame! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Use a Frame!" which means she'd like to see some sort of frame on your project.

I wasn't sure what I was going to do for this challenge until I came across a pack of frames I had forgot I had and did this.....

I used AI to generate this image.  I did try to find a similar image and style amongst the digi artists out there, and searched the graphics on Canvas as well, but I couldn't find what I wanted, so that's why I turned to AI.

Stitches @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's my turn to choose the challenge and I'm continuing to showcase Canadian songs with this week's challenge being "Stitches".

This is what I did....

Stamp is from Ellen Hutson.  Some stitched tag dies from Your Next Stamp and a very old stash metal embellishment from Tim Holtz and that's about that.

"Stitches" is a 2015 song by Torontonian Shawn Mendes.  It was his first major single and charted in the Top 10 in 25 countries.  He was only 17 at the time.  He has since went on the release four more albums and has done voice-over work.

In the middle of September, I took some holidays and drove out to Golden, BC, which from my place is a 3765km road trip (one way).  I had never driven west of Sault Ste. Marie before, and had only been west of Ontario a couple of times when I flew into Saskatoon on two separate weekends to attend weddings.  I thoroughly enjoyed my vacation, and while I have always known Canada is a beautiful country, it was amazing to see it in person for myself.  Well, the western part of it anyways.....minus BC (as Golden is just barely over the border from Alberta).

I thought I'd share some of my favourite photos of my trip.....

Ouimet Canyon in Dorion, ON (near Thunder Bay)  I'm standing on the longest suspension bridge in Canada to take this photo.

Saamis Teepee (World's Tallest Teepee) in Medicine Hat, AB.  The artwork on those discs is incredible.

Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park in British Columbia.  This was my substitute for Lake Louise and Moraine Lake as I noped it out of the craziness of Banff about five minutes after I got there.

Whitetooth Mountain at Kicking Horse Resort.  Sent this picture to my 6 and told them I hiked up the mountain myself and it took six hours.
When one of them pointed out the gondola in the background, and suggested that was how I got up the mountain I responded with.....

What gondola?  That's a moose.

And a view from atop the mountain where I definitely took the 20 minute gondola ride up.
 Elevation is 2,447m / 8,028ft

Autumn Colours! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Chrissy's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Autumn Colours!" which means she'd like to see those project with fall hues.

This is what I did....

Might have cheated here a bit.....but in my defense, I did use autumn colours.  Brown, deep green, red.....and if you look closely at the patterned paper, you'll see a lil bit of yellow on those Christmas trees.  (:  Digi is from PlumLovedArt.

This is what I did....

Let's see.....I've got 1 image (from PlumLovedArt), 2 different Christmas patterned papers and 3 embellishments - enamel dots, twine and a button.  And another Christmas card for the stash!

The Longest Time @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Kate's turn to choose the challenge and continuing on with Billy Joel songs with this week being, "The Longest Time" means she would like to see anything nostalgic or representing memories etc.  I went a slightly different route and did this.....

I think we can all agree, 90 is definitely a long time.  Digi is from Mo's Digital Pencil.

This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's going easy on us.....she just wants us to use a stamp!

This is what I did.....

I challenged myself to use an actual stamp and not a digi.  This wonderful Santa's beard is from The Cat's Pajamas (now closed ): ).

Hayloft @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's my turn to choose the challenge and I'm going with "Hayloft" which means I'd like to see those makes that include a farm animal, or barn, or farm machinery or barn.....if it has anything to do with a farm, it's in!

This is what I did....

I used this fun image from BinaryBazar and added the sentiment.

Hayloft is a song by British Columbia band, Mother Mother.  There's actually two songs called Hayloft, one is Hayloft I, the other....you guessed it.....Hayloft II.  Hayloft I was released in 2008 with little commercial success.  In August 2020, the song became popular on TikTok and by October it was pulling in over 1 million streams every week.  The success of Hayloft I prompted the band to make a sequel, which is, of course, Hayloft II, released in 2021.  The material of the songs are kinda dark - so that's your caveat for the music videos.  The songs are both quite unique sounding, and worth a listen, if you're so inclined.

Q is for Quote @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Imke's turn to choose the challenge and she's continuing to take us through the alphabet with this week's challenge being "Q is for Quote" which means she wants to see those projects that have an included quote.

This is what I did....

Some of you probably recognize those lines from the story 'Twas the Night Before Christmas.  I added it in Canvas to this digi from PlumLovedArt.

I tell ya, I hit this card layout again and again and again.  I do try to shake it up from time to time but I admit I often fall back into that ole "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" frame of mind.  Oh well.  (:

We Didn't Start the Fire @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

Kate is continuing to take us through Billy Joel songs with this week being, "We Didn't Start the Fire" which means she would like to see projects that have fire or candles or something to do with a timeline or history.

This is what I did....

Looks like that sweet bunny is just a little early for the Winter Solstice celebration.  I'm sure her friends are on the way.  Image is from PlumLovedArt, sentiment is from Purple Onion Designs.

This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying "Card Plus" which means she would like to see an envelope with your card.

This is what I did....

I made this sentiment in Canva, foiled it and then paired it with a lot of mirror cardstock.....and managed to get the reflection of my hand and arm in the photo too.

One Thing @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's my turn to choose the challenge and I'm continuing with songs from Canadian artists with this week being "One Thing" which means I want to see one of something on your make.

This is what I did....

I've got lots of "ones" on here.....one patterned paper, one image, one piece of twine, one bow, one button, one snowflake, one enamel dot and one tag.  Reindeer digi is an oft-used image from Tiddly Inks and the sentiment tag is from LOTV.

One Thing is a 2003 song by Finger Eleven.  It's one of those songs that'll mean different things to different people.  Some describe the song as being about longing and regret, about wanting to fix a broken connection, others say it's about the dilemma of wanting to make the right decision, but not necessarily knowing what the right decision is.  The song charted well in both Canada and the US with the music video winning an award in the 2004 MuchMusic Video Awards (though, to be honest, I'm not overly impressed with the video.....though that might be because I'm looking at it through a 2026 lens).
The band formed in 1990 in Burlington, ON, and....get this.....they were originally called Rainbow Butt Monkeys.  I think the name change was probably wise.

This is what I did....

This pretty reindeer is from ArtOutrageous on Etsy.  Added a couple of wooden snowflakes and sentiment stickers and that was that.

P is for Pink! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Imke's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "P is for Pink!" which means she wants to see pink on those projects.

This is what I did....

Can't claim credit for that sentiment, one of my sub-babies asked me to make a birthday card for her friend that incorporated an olive and a Google search found me this pun (which has gotta be up there in at least the top 5 for birthday puns).  A very old digi from C.C Designs was the perfect pairing.

Piano Man @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Kate's turn to choose the challenge and she's continuing with Billy Joel songs with this week's being what I'm guessing is one of his most well-known songs (for good reason), "Piano Man" which means she would like to see those projects that are inspired by music.

This is what I did....

Yet another Christmas tag, this one being inspired by "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas".  Stamp is from Hero Arts.  This tag also features some very well behaved Stickles.

I See...@ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "I See..." which means she wants to see those projects that have some sort of a see-through element.

This is what I did.....

I've got a couple of snowflakes cut from polka dot vellum and the sentiment is a sticker, which you can also see though.  Digi is from Stamplorations.

Can't say I blame Europeans for throwing our heat back at us......but couldn't you have waited until today at least?  I booked yesterday off work to go on a day trip that included a couple of hikes.....in weather where, when you factor in the humidity, it was 40ºC.  So, two hikes turned into one.....on a poorly marked trail so my directionally challenged ass got lost.  After tromping around in the bush for a bit trying to find the trail I finally admitted to myself I wasn't going to find my way back without help, so I pulled out the pocket rectangle and gps'ed my way back to the parking lot.  Man, was I gassed.  I really gotta stop thinking I'm 30 years younger.

Happy Canada Day to all my Canadian peeps!  🍁
