Feel Better! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Doni's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying she wants to see those makes that are all about encouragement and/or making someone feel better.  I think everybody could use a card like that from time to time.

This is what I did.....

I think this digi with included sentiment is perfect for helping someone through a rough patch.  It's from Sherry West Art.  I ended up printing it a bit too big from my usual sized card, which is why I went with this layout.

So, why not give our challenge a go this week and join us?  And, if you'd like more inspiration, be sure to check out what the Girlfriends have made.

With A Little Help From My Friends @ Little Red Wagon

 This week at

it's Kate's turn to choose the challenge and she's continuing on with her Beatles theme and is saying, "With a Little Help From My Friends" which just means that she wants to see those project for friends.

This is what I did....

I love this image from Sherry West Art....so classy and unique.  My original plan was to do a completely black & white card, and leave the image uncoloured, but I when I found this perfect-for-this-image paper, I decided to add a bit of colour to the digi.  I added Stickles to her jewellery too, of course.  (Which, as always, doesn't really show up in the photo.)  Sentiment is from Create With Tlc.

Had a bit of a mishap this weekend....our (riding) lawnmower wasn't working so we had to borrow one to get our hayfield of a lawn cut.  (The combination of finally getting warm weather and then rain at the right time made our lawn grow monstrously in just a short amount of time.)  The one we borrowed is more like a small tractor than a lawnmower, sits a lot higher and has a very high roll bar.....something I didn't really think about while I was mowing.  When I went around our lilac tree, I ended up snagging two limbs on the roll bar, and pulling them right on top of me.  Luckily, instinct took over and as it was happening, I leaned forward and nothing hit me in the head.  I honestly don't know where that instinct came from because an instant before that I had honestly said to myself, "Why does it feel like the lilac tree is following me?"

Long story short, I ended up pinned to the seat of the lawnmower.  Perfectly all right though....a couple of scratches and just a bit embarrassed as my daughter and husband had to come lift up the limbs so I could get off the lawnmower.  My kids, knowing how much I hate the lilac tree, made various jokes about how there'd be easier ways for me to take it down without getting in trouble.  (My husband's parents used to live here, they moved two farms down the road when my husband and I got married.  The lilac tree was given to my mil years and years ago from her kids....but no one had ever trimmed it in all that time.  When I first moved in I talked about cutting it down....and I was just about tarred and feathered for even suggesting it....so I settled for trimming it....which didn't make me like it any better, just made me slightly happier because there was less of it.)

Just to give you a visual, here's the picture my daughter took.....after she asked for, and got, permission to find the whole thing funny....

Needless to say, I stayed a good distance from all of our trees I do like, so as not to have this happen with one of them.  And, our lawnmower is now fixed, so my next time cutting the lawn will hopefully be adventureless.  (:

Outside! @ Little Red Wagon

 This week at

it's my turn to choose the challenge and I'm saying, "Outside!" which just means that I want to see those projects with an outdoor scene, or things that can be found outside.  So think, flower gardens, insects, animals in their habitat, kids playing outdoor sports, etc. etc. etc.  Lots of possibilities!

This is what I did.....

Isn't this digi absolutely adorable?  It's by Sherry West Art.  I was actually thinking about making the star multicoloured rather than yellow....after all, I'm sure the Star Wars universe has stars that are different colours, but I I decided to stick with yellow.  Added some gold Stickles for extra sparkle too.

Why not give our challenge at go this week and join us?  And, if you'd like more inspiration, be sure to check out what the Girlfriends have made.

Little Monsters Everywhere! @ Little Red Wagon

  This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's screaming saying, "Little Monsters Everywhere!" which means she just wants to see a project that has some sort of monster(s) on it.  So fun!

This is what I did....

Now, I know some of you The Mandalorian fans might balk at calling lil Grogu a monster.  But, did you see the way he was chowing down on those eggs?  Yeah, he's got a bit of monster in him for sure.  Though....if your heart didn't warm at least a bit when Din Djarin found out The Child's actual name, and kept calling him by it, and Grogu turned and looked at him every time....welp....I think I'd have to label you the monster.  (:

Image is another fabulous digi from Sherry West Art.  And, I must say, everything about making this card made me happy.  I adore the art, it was a dream to colour....and when I realized I had inadvertently put my computer-generated sentiment off-centre, I easily balanced it with a sizable die cut snowflake.  I love it when a plan comes together.

Why not give our challenge a go this week and head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up?  And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Add a Heart! @ Little Red Wagon

 This week at

it's Chrissy's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Add a Heart!" which means she just wants to see projects that have at least one heart on them.  Easy-peasy!

This is what I did.....

Omg, isn't this image from Sherry West Art just amazing?!?!  I love it.  And it could be used for so many different occasions.  I kept it fairly simple here, and as you can see, I've got my needed heart.

Happy Days! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Kate's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Happy Days!" which just means that she would like to see any project that would make someone smile.

Now, I didn't go with my usual for this challenge. I mean, I'm usually all about the lolz so I should have went for a punny sentiment or a card with a funny image but instead I did this.....

....and it's not even a card!  Well, it's kinda like a card, but just the front.  Little bigger than more normal card makes....it's 5 1/2 x 5 1/2.  And, the someone that would smile over this....is me.  (:  See, I made this because this is basically a portrait of my daughter from 11 years ago.  Here's the proof....

She used to looooooooooove toads.  She probably still does though I doubt she'd catch one and spend the day with it like she used to.  When I saw this image from Sherry West Art, I knew I had to have it.  And when I saw the challenge was to make someone smile, I didn't think making something to make me smile would be cheating.  I figure I'll give this to my daughter at some point so, hopefully, it'll make her smile too.  And, for the record, even though she certainly isn't little anymore (5'8" and 15 yo) she still is fierce.  And every kind of awesome.

Why don't you give our challenge a go this week and head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up?  And, while you're there, be sure to check out the fabulous projects the other Girlfriends have created.
