The Longest Time @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Kate's turn to choose the challenge and continuing on with Billy Joel songs with this week being, "The Longest Time" means she would like to see anything nostalgic or representing memories etc.  I went a slightly different route and did this.....

I think we can all agree, 90 is definitely a long time.  Digi is from Mo's Digital Pencil.

Hayloft @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's my turn to choose the challenge and I'm going with "Hayloft" which means I'd like to see those makes that include a farm animal, or barn, or farm machinery or barn.....if it has anything to do with a farm, it's in!

This is what I did....

I used this fun image from BinaryBazar and added the sentiment.

Hayloft is a song by British Columbia band, Mother Mother.  There's actually two songs called Hayloft, one is Hayloft I, the other....you guessed it.....Hayloft II.  Hayloft I was released in 2008 with little commercial success.  In August 2020, the song became popular on TikTok and by October it was pulling in over 1 million streams every week.  The success of Hayloft I prompted the band to make a sequel, which is, of course, Hayloft II, released in 2021.  The material of the songs are kinda dark - so that's your caveat for the music videos.  The songs are both quite unique sounding, and worth a listen, if you're so inclined.

Card Plus @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying "Card Plus" which means she would like to see an envelope with your card.

This is what I did....

I made this sentiment in Canva, foiled it and then paired it with a lot of mirror cardstock.....and managed to get the reflection of my hand and arm in the photo too.

P is for Pink! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Imke's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "P is for Pink!" which means she wants to see pink on those projects.

This is what I did....

Can't claim credit for that sentiment, one of my sub-babies asked me to make a birthday card for her friend that incorporated an olive and a Google search found me this pun (which has gotta be up there in at least the top 5 for birthday puns).  A very old digi from C.C Designs was the perfect pairing.

Uptown Girl @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Kate's turn to choose the challenge and continuing with Billy Joel songs with this week being "Uptown Girl" which means she wants to see those feminine cards with glam and/or fashion.

This is what I did....

I used a digi from SuzyFlowArt on Etsy.  Glammed it up with some bling.  I wasn't sure how I was going to do the sentiment until I was searching in my ribbon drawer and found this printed ribbon, something I kept from something it was around (I can't remember what).  I thought it could serve as the sentiment and that was that.

May Flowers! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Chrissy's turn and she's celebrating May by wanting to see "May Flowers!".  Any flowers will do!

This is what I did....

I think I've got the flower part covered.  I decided to let that lovely patterned paper shine and just went with a digi sentiment from Desert Diva that she offered on her blog for free.

It's Still Rock and Roll To Me @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

Kate is continuing to take us through Billy Joel songs with this week being, "It's Still Rock and Roll To Me" which means she wants to see those vintage or retro makes.

This is what I did....

I found this retro graphic online and built the card around it.  This will be going to a sub-baby who will get a kick out of it.

Boy Inside the Man @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's my turn to choose the challenge and I'm continuing on with the theme of some of my favourite songs by Canadian artists with this week being, "Boy Inside the Man" which means I'd like to see those projects for or about men and/or boys.

This is what I did.....

I made a birthday card for my grandbaby's birthday in a couple of months.  Digi is from Mo's Digital Pencil.

Now, a bit about the song....."Boy Inside the Man" is a 1986 song from Tom Cochrane & Red Rider.  It's about the rite of passage that covers the ages from 17 to 31 .  I've linked to a "revisited" version on YouTube as there is no music video for the song and the sound quality of the older videos are pretty atrocious.  This version stays fairly true to the original song.  If you're not Canadian, you may have heard of Tom Cochrane's (he went solo in 1991) global hit "Life is a Highway".  That song reached number 1 in Canada, number 6 on the Billboard Top 100 in the US and reached the top 2 in both New Zealand in Australia.  Can't say I'm that big of a fan of "Life is a Highway".....and that's mostly Rascal Flatts' fault.  They covered the song for the movie Cars, which was a favourite of my middlest and he went through a period where he watched it everyday for, I dunno, felt like a year. Definitely not a fan of Rascal Flatts and one of my BIGGEST pet peeves is when country singers cover rock songs.  If you're interested in checking out other songs by Tom Cochrane, I highly recommend "Big League", "Victory Day" and "Stonecutter's Arms".  Afaik Rascal Flatts kept their grubby and unnecessarily twangy mitts off those songs.

Just the Way You Are @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Kate's turn to choose the challenge and she's continuing with Billy Joel songs with this week being, "Just the Way You Are" meaning she would like to see those projects celebrating someone.  Pretty easy that one - you could do almost any occasion - wedding, new baby, anniversary, friendship, Valentine's Day, graduation, congratulations etc. etc. etc. Or you could do what I did....

....and go with a birthday card.  This card is for my middlest and I even got the word celebrate on there to be an Extra Good DT Member.  (:  Image is from Binary Bazar on Etsy.  I made the sentiment in Canva but got the inspiration from a stamp set I picked up at ScrapFest last year....but it wasn't the right size for the right sized balloon.  That's one of the things I love about digis/computer generated sentiments - they're the right size every time.  (Except when you print them out at the wrong size.  Which is what I did on the first printing of the bear.  But I can't fault the digi for that.  (: )

Let's Fly! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's my turn to choose the challenge and I'm saying, "Let's Fly!" which means I want to see those things that fly or anything in the sky.

This is what I did.....

I used this sweet watercoloured style bird from SmartFoxArt from Etsy.  I was having trouble trying to find a way to add a sentiment so I pulled out this old sticker from my stash.  Does it bother me that you can clearly see the clear sticker?  Yes.  But it turns out that while the sticker might be in its teens, the sticky on the sticker is stronger than heck so I couldn't pull it off once it was on there without having to reprint and redo, which is why I decided to leave it as is.

Tea. Earl Grey. Hot. @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's my turn to choose the challenge and I'm saying, "Tea.  Earl Grey.  Hot." which means I want to see those makes that include hot drinks.

This is what I did....

Sentiment was made in Canva.  I'd like to point out that the seam binding, while maybe doesn't match exaaaaaaactly with the pink on the card, is definitely a lot less peach than it looks in the photo.

Fancy Fold! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Chrissy's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Fancy Fold!" which means she wants to see fold that are beyond the standard card fold.

I struggled with this one.  Had an idea to do "curtains" as my fancy fold but just couldn't make it work.  Then I tried sticking with the same theme and doing "blinds" instead and have it be an interactive card but I couldn't get that to work either.  This is what I ended up doing....

Normally I'd say, "....but I got there in the end", but did I?  I don't think that's the case with this one.  Not to mention, those shutters hardly qualify as "fancy".  At any rate, I ran out of time to make something else so this'll have to do.

G is for Gentleman! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Imke's turn to choose the challenge and she's continuing to work her way through the alphabet and she's saying, "G is for Gentleman!" meaning she wants to see those masculine makes.

This is what I did.....

I went with this amazing digi from Poppy Lane Digital (whose Etsy shop appears to be closed ): ) and made a birthday card.  I absolutely love this style of digi stamp.  Sentiment was made in Canva.

I need to make a very important announcement.  Even though the sentiment states "When life sends you a birthday...eat cake!" I would like to point out that anytime life sends you anything is an appropriate time to eat cake.  Got sent an email?  Cake.  Got sent to the 'next available agent'?  Cake.  Got sent a package from Amazon?  Well, hopefully it's cake, because cake.  I rest my case.

See Through It! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "See Through It!" which means she wants to see those projects with a transparent element.

This is what I did....

I stamped those leaves (from Dylusions) on vellum and then fussy cut them out.  Another "see through it" element (that isn't very noticeable) is the sentiment.  It's actually a sticker, (from a sheet that's been in my stash since about the beginning of my cardmaking journey...back in 2010) so there's a clear backing to it, which is also transparent.

Use That Stash! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she wants us to use that stash!  I'm sure we all have some not often used crafty item(s) we can find for this theme.

This is what I did....

I used some old patterned paper as well as a sentiment and image (both from Create With TLC) as well as some ancient bling that I haaaaaad to have but have never used. A bit of distressing and that's that.

Birthdays! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Chrissy's turn to choose the challenge and she's got an easy one for you.  She wants to see those birthday projects.

This is what I did....

Piggy stamp is a set I got at a craft yard sale with no manufacturer packaging.  The sentiment is one I've had for ages....like one of the very first sets I bought back in, like, 2012.  I embossed it, though you can't really tell in the photo.  Oh, and I'll be taking no questions or comments about the inked sky background - thank yew.

I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

Kate is taking us through a stroll of Elton John songs and this week it's "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues" which means, you guessed it, she wants to see blue on your project.

This is what I did....

Let's see....I've got blue cardstock, blue in the patterned paper, lovely plant lady (from Poppy Lane Digital on Etsy but, very unfortunately, I can't locate the shop ):), and I also....

...used blue foil on the sentiment.  I absolutely adore digis that have heavy shadows, so, needless to say, I loooooove this one.  I really hope the artist is just taking a holiday and has not decided to close up shop.

Made this for my sub-baby Brieana.  She's a plant-lover, so this image was perfect.

All Tied Up! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "All Tied Up!" which means she wants to see ribbon or twine on your project.

This is what I did....

After I made this and took a good look at it, I realized that the balloons are way out of portion for the size of the bear.  I mean, we could have an Up situation here.  Then I remembered that it's not very often bears wear hats, so I could stop worry about how realistic my card is.

B Is For Birthday! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Imke's turn to choose the challenge and she's taking us through the alphabet and saying, "B Is For Birthday!" which means she'd like to see those birthday makes.

This is what I did.....

A fairly standard birthday card using one of my most favourite colours combos - pink & gray.  Digi is from Graciellie Design.  Sentiment is a cheapie I picked up yeeeeeeears ago at a scrapbook store.  Of course I stamped it crookedly, but seeing as I didn't realize that until after I embossed and die cut it, I just went with it.  I'm finding that with my newish 50ist attitude, I really don't get too bothered about....well....a whole lot of things anymore.  Up until I was about 49 and 9 months, stuff like that would have annoyed the paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaants off me.  Like, I would NEVER use a crooked sentiment on a card.  I would have done the whole process over until it was right.  Now *insert shoulder shrug*.  It's done wonders for my stress level, let me tell you.  Hmmmm....now I'm wondering if I didn't die cut it wonky and the stamping is fine.  No change to my reaction with that knowledge though.  Still shoulder shrugging.  (:

Peek-A-Boo! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Peek-A-Boo!" which means she wants to see projects that have some sort of window.

This is what I did....

As you can see, four wee bears are peeping out their own windows before heading off to a birthday party.  Unfortunately, I don't know where they're from.  I've was to couple large craft items yard sales last year, and there was a lot of grab bags of stamps, dies and supplies at these sales for cheap and I said, "Yes, please" and picked up a few.  Thing is, there's usually not identifying packaging in these bundles, which is definitely why they're such a excellent deal.  Gotta love adding to the stash without being hard on the pocketbook.  (:
