Use Your Scraps! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Use Your Scraps!" which is very timely for me because I just found out (or remembered, I guess) that have two scrap baskets, in two different spots, when I thought I only had one!  Whoops!

But, at least that meant I had a lot of scraps to choose from.  So, this is what I did....

It's pretty much all from the scrap baskets, except for the googly eyes.  No stamps on this one either.

Why not give our challenge a go this week and join us?  And, if you'd like more inspiration, be sure to check out what the Girlfriends have made.

Use 3 of Something! @ Little Red Wagon

 This week at

it's Imke's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Use 3 of Something" which I'm thinking is pretty self-explanatory.

This is what I did.....

As you can see, I used three words and three different patterned papers.  I also said three swears when I made this, once when my Cuttlebug handle spun around and whacked me on the knuckles, once when I forgot my own tip about not cutting around something like the cupcake icing so you can then print another cupcake icing so it looks more on top on the wrapper and once when twine fell and rolled away when I was trying the bow.  Don't know if those should count though.  (:  Digi is by 2 Cute Ink

Let It Be! @ Little Red Wagon

 This week at

it's Kate's turn to choose the challenge and she's keeping on with her Beatles music theme and she's saying, "Let It Be!" which means that she would like to see things that start with the letter B on your project.

This is what I did.....

Let's see......I've got a bear digi from Teddy Bo, coloured brown, holding a blue box with a big bow on a birthday card, with paper that's black, blue...and some other colours.  I think I've met the quota for Bs.  (:

Make It Stitched! @ Little Red Wagon

 This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Make It Stitched!" which just means she would like to see stitching on your creation.

Lately, for some reason, I've been making card for younger kids.  Not sure why, I don't have any young kids to give cards too.  Well, that's not exactly true, I do have a number of under 10 great nieces & nephews.  Thing is, no one on that side of the family is really interested in cards.  But, that hasn't stopped me from making card for.....well.....to sit in my baskets of made cards.  I did see that my local scrapbook shop is gathering cards to donate to our armed forces, so I'm definitely going to get some of my cards together for that.  I might get all my cards to fit in one basket then!

Anyhoo, this is what I made.....

As you can see, I have two stitched square die cuts on there.  I absolutely love the stitched shape dies.  An easy way to add some oomph to a clean & layered card.  Digi is from Drawn By Krista (who I believe used to be Drawn With Character).  She's got a lot of amazing images.  This one caught my eye so I decided to buy it, even though, as I said before, I didn't actually need it.  After I added the sentiment to the image in Word, got it printed out, coloured it up, and was just about to put on the card, I realized that the critter looks more like a dragon than a dinosaur.  And then I might have said, "Well, f@#k."  But, when I went back and looked, I saw that the image is called Happy Birthday Dino, so I decided it was a dinosaur after all.

I'm impressed that the picture I took this evening, in artificial lighting, turned out as good as it did.  I was going to take a photo this morning but our new kitten was asleep on my lap when I thought to do it, and I wasn't gonna wake him up.  We adopted him from a local rescue, and he's just the sweetest.  Here's a picture of him....

Of course I'm totally biased, but isn't his half 'stache just the cutest thing?  He's estimated to be about four months old, so not a kitten kitten, but not a cat either.  My daughter and I take turn stealing him away from each other.  (:

Pick Patterned Paper! @ Little Red Wagon

 This week at

it's my turn to choose the challenge and I'm saying, "Pick Patterned Paper!" which just mean that I want to see patterned paper on your project.  You can go with a lot or just one lil tiny strip and, it's in!

This is what I did....

I used up a bunch of paper scraps with this one.  Just stuck 'em on a scrap piece of cardstock and used a die from Stamplorations to cut it.  It's a great way to get those scraps used up!  Digi is from Bugaboo Stamps, which is now closed.  ):

I'm not sure why I took this photo while looming over my card or something.  It a weird angle, but I don't think it needs retaken.  More like, I don't want to bother to retake it, actually.  (:

You Say It's Your Birthday @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "You Say It's Your Birthday" (duh nah nah nah nah nah nah)....and I don't think I need to tell you what that means. (:

This is what I did.....

I used another find from that "garage" sale I went to back a bit. It's from a Close To My Heart set. I'm impressed with how well their stamps stamp. I know all of you probably already know their quality but I'm an almost exclusive digi user.....and part of the reason why I am is because when I first started my foray into cardmaking I would buy cheapie stamps, so I quickly became disillusioned with the whole inking up a physical stamp process. Who knows, if I hadn't been so reluctant to spend some money I might own an entire mountain of clear/rubber stamps that would slowly be taking over the house.....okay, maybe it's better that I'm into digis.

Gack, I don't know why every card I've made lately has turned into such a time consuming, labour intensive romp. It's like my mojo is still here, and all well and good, but has become ridiculously indecisive. This was basically the layout I had in my head, save the trees. They went through a colour change, size change, became clouds for a bit, then had to finagle the trunks as the die cuts weren't long enough (obviously)....but at least I got there in the end. I got there at 1:12am last night, but I got there nonetheless. (It's times like these when I wish I liked coffee!)

Why don't you give our challenge a go this week and head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up.  And, while you're there, be sure to check out the fabulous projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Birthday Card

Anyone's birthday? Anyone, anyone? Well, if it is Happy Birthday. And, oh look, here's a birthday card.

More suited for a kid or a teen and I don't think I'm getting too many of them reading my blog. So, I guess I'll just say it's for the following challenges:

CPS: sketch
Hand Full of Stamps: wishes (I hope "wish" counts!)
Caardwarks: sticker (The middle square with the red background is actually a sticker. Wish I could take credit for that cute button!)
