Gold or Silver! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Chrissy's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Gold or Silver!" or you could.....

do both!  And have neither one be that obvious when you take a photo!  The sentiment is foiled with silver foil, and the mat for it is gold mirror cardstock.  There's also gold mirror accents on the patterned paper.  I was really hoping I had gold stars in my stash but didn't so I went with black ones.  Now, if I was an Exceptional DT Member, I would have used green foil on the holly leaves, but I was being lazy and the thought of trying to get a little piece of foil over the leaves and nothing else seemed to me, a monumental task.  In looking at it on the screen, I don't think it would have been as difficult as I had thought.  Oh well, what's done is done.

Let's Get Rocked! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Kate's turn to choose the challenge and she's continuing to be inspired by Def Leppard and this week she's saying, "Let's Get Rocked!" which means she wants to see projects inspired by rock songs.

I went with one of my favourite songs, a tune from Pearl Jam.....

...which, in case you haven't guessed it is called "Just Breathe".  Here's a link to the song's video if you'd like to hear it.  It's one of my all-time favourites.  I think it was very nice of Eddie Vedder to sing it in a fairly even and midrange key so I could have a hope to sing along without wanting to plug my own ears.

Sentiment was made in Silhouette Design Studio.

Florals @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Chrissy's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Florals!" which means she wants to see flowers on your project.

I struggled with this one a bit until I remembered I wanted to make a birthday card and then came up with this....

Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo that shows that the sentiment is foiled.  I mean foiled as in using toner ink, foil and a laminator, not foiled as in thwarted.  (:  I made the sentiment myself in Canva.  A big tulle bow and a very blingy button and that's that.

How 'Bout That Solar Eclipse? @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "How 'Bout That Solar Eclipse?" (Fitting, coz we just had one....well the eastern hemisphere had one....I guess, technically, we all had it, it's just that it could only be seen in parts of the world not of the west.....which worked out nicely for me seeing as I'd forgotten about it and now I don't have to feel guilty about not observing it.) That just means that Brenda wants to see creations featuring something to do celestial beings.....moon, sun, stars, planets etc. etc. etc.

I know I'm starting to sound very repetitive here.....but....guess what I still can't find? If you answered, "Any willpower to not eat junk food?" you'd be right, but it's not the answer I'm looking for here. "A decent singing voice?", "A tolerance for laugh tracks?" and "The ability to modify your resting bitch face?" are all also valid responses, but again, not the answer I'm wanting. It's my mojo. Yep, it's still on the lam. (Side note: About that last valid response. One time my dd took photos while I tried to put a less murdery expression on my face. It ended with her laying on the floor laughing and me discovering that it's either total RBF or smiling. There is no in between.)

It had such good ideas in my head for this. I wanted to go super CAS. I was going to do a tiny star shaker but then I decided I was going to do a Christmas card with the sentiment, "Star of Wonder". First it was going to be a die cut star, then I printed out a digi to use, then I printed the same digi on patterned paper with the sentiment, then I paper pieced the star on the patterned paper, then I went back to the star printed on white paper....and then I scrapped that whole thing I did this....

This card is very reminiscent of my first cards.  In fact, I do believe both those pieces of patterned paper date back to when I first started making cards.....ten years ago.  No coloured images here....no stamps, in fact, I designed the sentiment in Word.  Hahahaha, designed.  I typed it in Word and changed the font and then the size of one word.  So, not much going on here.  But it's got a whole bunch of stars on it, so it's all good for the challenge this week.

Why don't you give our challenge a go this week and head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up?  And, while you're there, be sure to check out the fabulous projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Just a Sentiment @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Imke's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Just a Sentiment" which I'm pretty sure doesn't require any more explanation.

This is what I did.....

Not much to say about this one.....oh, except to comment on the fact that that's glitter vinyl on the "cheers" there.  I didn't have glitter paper, and I'm not sure my Silhouette would have liked it anyway as glitter paper has a tendency to be either really thick or have some sort of weird plastic backing.  I did remember I have a load of vinyl (and heat transfer vinyl) because I had won a $50 gift certificate some time ago.  Of course, all the ideas I had in mind to use said vinyls didn't happen.....so I was glad I could use some of it for something....even though it was just that little bit of it.  I figure that vinyl has a pretty long shelf life so when I retire (in, like, 25 years) I can get around to all those projects I've got floating around in my head.  Long term goals, my friends.  (:

Love @ Melonheadz Friends

For the next two weeks at

http://melonheadzfriends.blogspot.ca/

it's all about the love.....yep, the challenge theme is that simple. We want to see your love projects!

I know with Valentine's Day coming up we're gonna see a lot of Valentines for this challenge but I thought I'd go with something different....

....and I did an anniversary card instead. Still all about the love though. I used a past freebie, but if you want to check out all the fantastic digis for sale in the shop you can just click here.

I also wanted to make this card to show that just 'coz Melonheadz digis are in the cutesy genre, that doesn't mean you can't make something more on the elegant side with them.  I got inked edges and distressing on there and everything.  Just thought showing you this might make you look at some of your stamps in a new light.  :-)

So why not feel the luuuuuuurve and enter the challenge? And be sure to check out what the rest of the DT has made.
