Digi Do! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's my turn to choose the challenge and I'm saying, "Digi Do!".....well actually, I'm saying, "Digi Doooooooooooo!" coz that's just how I roll. Anyway you say it though it just means that I want to see projects using digital stamps. And with all those wonderful digi stamp artists out there you should have no trouble finding images for this challenge

This is what I did....

I used a digi from A Day For Daisies. The shop is closing down on the 31st so if you want any images you'll have to get them today. I'm always sad to see when digi shops close down....and I feel like there's been a number of them in the past year....A Day For Daisies, Whimsie Doodles, Digistamp Boutique. to name a few....all fabulous artists and I'm sad to know that their images aren't available anymore.. ):

But, there are still lots of other artists out there so why don't you grab one of there digis give our challenge a go this week and head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up.  And, while you're there, be sure to check out the fantastic projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Dog Days of Summer @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Doni's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying it's the "Dog Days of Summer" which just means that she would like you to use a dog on your project. That's not ruff at all!

(Fyi, I had to take a break because I was laughing so hard at my pun that I couldn't type.)

This is what I did....

Isn't that dog the sweetest?  It's from By Lori Designs.  I do love her work.  Kept it cas this time.

Why not give our challenge a go this week and head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up?  And, while you're there, be sure to check out the fantastic projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Also for:

AAA Cards:  one image + positivity + cas
Simply Create Too:  use pattered paper
As You Like It:  bird or beast?  - I like "beasts" better just because there's so much more variety!  Birds all cool too but there's usually less ways to use 'em on a card.

Tuesday Throwdown:  add some bling

Stitch It @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Imke's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Stitch It!" which just means.....well, you know what it means. Real, faux, on patterned paper, theme or whatever. As long as there's some sort of stitching it's all good.

This is what I did.....

As you can see I went with faux stitching via some stitched dies.  Once upon a time I used to actually machine stitch on most of my cards.  And I loved the look of it.  Then, I got these stitched shape dies and haven't touched my machine since.  I'll admit, I haven't missed it.  I even found a couple of cards with machine stitching kicking around here and, looking at them I realize that I now prefer the die stitching to actual stitching.  Like really prefer.  And here I thought I was just being lazy by reaching for the easy-peasy die cut option.  But yeah, that's probably influencing my preferredness too.  (:

Digi is from Artherapie.  I absolutely adore it.  There are loads of freebie colouring pages on the site if you want to check it out.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Kate's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!", which it's really, really not, and if it is in your neck of the wood....well, I'm so, so sorry (unless you're in one of those few places in the southern hemisphere that experiences snow.....but I'm hoping nobody 'round you has got their Christmas decorations up!). So, since it's not looking like Christmas irl, let's make it look that way in Blogland....well in our little corner of it, at least.

Okay, fair warning, my friends....you might want to be sure you're sitting down for this......

IT'S A ONE LAYER CARD! IT'S A FRICKITY-FRACKIN' ONE LAYER CARD!  (Now, I need you to picture me presenting it to you in the same way Will Smith "presents" his family to the media. You know, like this....)

Just so you know, out of the....let's be generous and say 20....or so people who are going to witness this freak of nature, I'm picturing six of you gasping in amazement,  three of you spitting out a beverage in shock, eight of you clapping and nodding, two of you fainting (which is why I told you to sit down....we care about your well-being here at Huh. So This Is A Blog) and one of you giving this post the middle finger because of my ridiculous hubris. Of course, my reaction to it was a dumbfounded string of swear words that ended with ......"Holy f&*kballs, I can't believe that actually worked!".

I'm starting to sound fairly repetitive here but.....I was at a crafty garage sale a little bit ago and picked up a few things.  The snowman are from a Close To My Heart set I got there.  The sentiment is from Your Next Stamp.  And the card base is from a pack of white cards that I bought eons ago.  This would be an excellent card to mass produce.....if I actually needed to mass produce Christmas cards.  I've severely reduced the amount of holiday cards I send....hmmmm....it's probably less than ten, so needing an easy, quick design isn't necessary.  Still,  I might do a couple more of these, for just in case.

Happy Repeat Day! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Happy Repeat Day!" which means that she wants you to double (or triple or quadruple or quintuple or sextuple or septuple or octuple or n-tuple, and by gawd, if you can do either of those last couple, I will, indeed, stand up and applaud) up on some aspect of your project. Lots of fun to be had with this challenge!

Bwahahahahahahahahaha, I thought about doing that just one more time but I was afraid I'd lose you all.  It is a Happy Repeat Day! challenge after all....I just couldn't resist.

After that silliness, I should probably just go ahead and show you my card....

Let's see....I doubled up on the bling, tripled up on the patterned papers, quadrupled up on the numbers and septupled up on the die cut letters.  I think I've got the challenge covered!  I was at a crafty garage sale recently and I picked up this stamp there....it was just in a plastic baggie so I have no idea who the maker is.  I was so happy I found it though as my daughter graduated from grade 8 last week and it gave me the opportunity to colour up an image to look like her.  She didn't wear a gown & cap, but I got the hair right.  (:

*ahem*  WARNING!  BLATANT MOM-BRAGGING MOMENT AHEAD!

My daughter finished her elementary school career on quite a high note.  She was awarded Honours, the General Proficiency Award (for the top marks), Excellence in English, Excellence in French, Female Athlete of the Year, the Principal's Award for Leadership and Valedictorian.  We are quite proud of her.  Bragging moment over.  (:

UNDER the Sea @ Tiddly Inks

This month at

the challenge is "UNDER the Sea". Now you may be wondering why the challenge is "UNDER the Sea" and not "Under the Sea". Well, let me show you my card and I'll explain....

Does that look under the sea to you?  Nope, not even close.  See, (haha, shoulda said sea) when I marked down the challenge I wrote it down as having to do with the sea, not UNDER the sea.  Not too many lighthouses are UNDER the sea.....that would kinda defeat the purpose.  Unfortunately, I did not have the time to create something new.  I think it's possible that I was just excited about the opportunity to use this digi, Light My Life, which is one of my favourites, that I didn't get the challenge exactly right.  Our DT Leader, Lou, hasn't threatened to kick me out over my gaff so all's okay.

I know my fellow Tiddly Teamies will definitely have gotten the theme down better than I so be sure to check out the fabulousness the DT has come up with.  And then why not grab a Tiddly Inks image, and join us!
