And Half the Summer Has Gone Where? - Fab Friday @ Tiddly Inks

Ummmm....excuse me.....where the heck did July go?  It's like *blink* gone.  At the beginning of the summer I always make promises to my kids about the stuff we'll do in the summer.....and then I get to this point and start mildly freaking out because there seems to be no time left to do everything.  Granted, we do seem to be further along this year than past years.....we had a (whirlwind) trip to New Brunswick & PEI and we've got our annual trip to Canada's Wonderland under our belt.  It certainly  doesn't help that since the beginning of June we've had ball tournaments every weekend except two.

And, really, I didn't help myself out at all this week with my Tiddly card coz.....

.....I went with a Christmas card so I can feel even more like summer is over.  I used Santa's Helper, one of my favourites.  I think I've used this image at least once every year since from when I first discovered Tiddly Inks.  He's cute without being cutesy, kwim?  Perfect for the teen boy set.

Do make sure you go check out the other fabulous Fabby Friday makes the rest of the DT has come up with. You can see 'em all right here.

Ice, Ice, Baby! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Imke's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Ice, Ice, Baby!" which means she wants to see projects with ice on them. So think skating, ice cream, ice cubes or even.....

....iced coffee!  Blech.  Just because you put ice with it, and whipped cream on the top, does not make it taste good to this potato.  Though I will drink a Timmies Iced Capp from time to time.  But, it only tastes vaguely of coffee so it's not the same.  I do like this iced coffee though.  Tim Holtz brews 'em up quite nice.

Why not give our challenge a go this week and head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up?  And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Off, Off & Away @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Kate's turn to choose the challenge and she's got a fun one for us. She's saying, "Off, Off & Away" which means she wants to see projects about outer space....so think stars & planets, aliens, ufos, etc. etc. etc.

This is what I did.....

Look, it's not a card!  I actually had intended to make a card but then I found that cool piece of acetate paper.  I then decided to use that glitter paper as a backing....and for some reason it's more like cardboard than cardstock.  So, rather than have a super heavy card I just finger crocheted some twine and stuck it to the back so it could be a wall hanging.  I did have a photo of it, string and all, but I didn't account for the reflectiveness of the acetate and my hands and camera are fairly visible.  I guess I moved a bit out of the way for this one.  I'm glad 'cause then I don't have to make my lazy butt set everything up for another photo.  (:

Lights, Camera, Action! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's got a fun one for us....she's saying, "Lights, Camera, Action!" which means she wants to see projects that are inspired by a movie or TV show.

This is what I did....

I betting a lot of you will know what TV show this is from but in case you don't....

...it's from Grey's Anatomy, of course.  I miss Sandra Oh's Cristina Yang.  Wish she was still on the show.

All computer-generated here....some clip art, sentiment done up in Word, a little paper piecing, tiny heart die, and that's that.

Christmas in July @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's yours truly's turn to chose the challenge and I'm going with that mid summer month favourite, Christmas in July. So, any Christmas project goes!

This is what I did....

I absolutely adore this digi from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I've used it a number of times now.....and I'm betting I'm going to use a number of more times.  I've added a bit of sparkle to the star which doesn't show up, as usual.  And that's pretty much that.

Anything Goes @ Tiddly Inks

This month at

we've got a super easy challenge for you...it's "Anything Goes"!. All you've got to do is use a Tiddly Inks image and it's in!

This is what I did....

I used a cropped version of Garden Wedding, a super sweet image for all your wedding card needs.  I was a bit disappointed by my colouring/blending for the skin tones....it just is what it is sometimes.  I wasn't disappointed over the fact that I used some of my flower stash though.  I don't have an enormous stash of flowers by any means, but seeing as I almost never use them, any flower stash is almost too much stash.  And any time I can whittle down stash, that's a good thing.

Why not grab a Tiddly Inks image, and join us for the challenge?  And be sure to  check out the fabulousness the DT has come up with.

Also for:

Unicorn Challenge:  stitching
Incy Wincy:  flowers
Moving Along With the Times:  flowers (as main focus) - Hmmmm.....there's flowers in the image that's the main focus, as well as flowered patterned papers and flower embellishments but I don't know if that constitutes as "main focus".  If it's not, feel free to shake your finger at me and delete my entry.  (:
Brown Sugar:  wedding
Fussy & Fancy:  pretty in pink
Pile It On:  vintage - ish??  (:
The Library Challenge:  The Rose Garden
Just Add Ink:  inspirational photo
