Yet another Friday.....last one of July! And I decided to do something a little different with my Tiddly Ink make this go 'round....
I used Castles - Set of Two Princess Castles. But I used only the one castle (obviously). Then I added the quote in after. Pretty cas for me. I was happy to find that very fitting quotation mark paper so I didn't want to cover it up too much. So cas it was.
Make sure you go check out the other Fabby Friday makes the rest of the DT has come up with. You can see 'em right here.

Up, Up & Away @ Little Red Wagon
This week at
it's Brenda's very first turn at hosting and she's got a fun one...."Up, Up & Away" which means she wants to see anything that flies. So much you could do birds, airplanes, bugs, balloons, kites, rockets....
Or you could do what I did.....
....and use a butterfly. They fly. And I know that for sure because I get dive-bombed by them all the time when I walk across my yard. Nasty evil things with their sharp teeth and their serrated legs. Paper ones glued on a card are so much better.
I dunno though.....this card seems to be juuuuuuuust missing it's mark, kwim? It's just nooooooot quite right. Maybe it's the sentiment....rectangle might be better, or it's quite possible that the butterfly is a bit too big for the layout.....anyhoo I'm considering reworking it, but for now this is what it is.
So why not look up, way up, for some inspiration and then head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up? And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Thickers & Stickers @ Little Red Wagon
This week at
it's my turn to pick the challenge and I decided to make you work a teeny-tiny bit this time.....I want to see Thickers and/or stickers on your projects! One or the other, both....I'm easy! As long a you have one Thicker (and, really, it doesn't have to be actual brand-name Thickers....any ole letters of that type will do) or one sticker (alpha or otherwise) on your project and it's in.
This is what I did....
No stamps on this one. (Going back to my card-making roots.) Alpha stickers for the "happy" and Thickers for the "birthday" and I got me a birthday card that's perfect for the tween boy set.
You know you've got some Thickers and stickers in your stash so why not whip something up and then head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up? And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Summer Song @ Tiddly Inks
For the next two weeks at
have we got a fun challenge for you! We want to see projects inspired by a song. A summer song that is!
This is what I did.....
I used one of the newest images, Wryn Floating Along. And really, what could be more summery than her?
You probably recognize the sentiment as part of the lyrics from Summertime, after all, according to Wikipedia, the song is recognized as one of the most covered songs in the history of recorded music, with more than 33,000 covers by groups and solo performers. So feel free to sing along with whichever version is your fave.
So, why not grab a Tiddly Inks image, and your favourite summer playlist and enter the challenge? And be sure to also check out the fabulousness the DT has come up with.

Sports Related @ Melonheadz Friends
For the next two weeks at
we want you to get active! Well, active with your crafting anyways 'coz we want to see something that's sports related.
This is what I did.....
Okay, so Ninja'ing probably isn't actually a sport but martial arts certainly is. I used an image from the aptly named Ninja pack. And I've linked you to the combo pack so you can get both the black & white AND coloured images. (There's 12 of them!)
So why not channel your inner athlete and enter the challenge? And be sure to check out what the rest of the DT has made.

Christmas in July - GDT @ Ooh La La Creations
I'm back with my second card as a Guest Designer at
and this time the challenge is "Christmas in July", so anything Christmas!
This is what I did.....
Wanted to try this technique for awhile now, glad I finally got the chance. Add to that a little sewing and a little ribbon, and BAM! A Christmas card done so there'll be one less to make when I'm frantically crafting away in December.
If you'd like to check out the great things that Ooh La La has, just clicky here and it'll take you to the shop. And don't forget to check out the challenge to see what the other designers have made.

Little Birdies - Fab Friday @ Tiddly Inks
It's Friday again! Time to showcase something fab from Tiddly Inks.
And this is what I've got for you.....
I used the brand new Wryn's Bird House. And it's an absolute steal too.....it's only $1.00!
I didn't realize until I was half way done this (earlier today) that I used the exact same colour scheme that I had used for my last Tiddly Inks card. Whoops! I do so like these colours together though so I'm fine with it. (And hopefully you don't mind either!)
I know the rest of my teamies probably aren't recycling the colours from their last cards so make sure you go check out their makes. You can see 'em right here.
Also for:

Just Beachy @ Little Red Wagon
This week at
it's Joanne's turn to choose the theme and she wants to see projects about where a lot of people head in the summer - the beach!
Ah, the beach. Not a fan myself. It's sunny, and hot, and sand gets everywhere and about all you can do is sit and do nothing. Nothing except to think about how hot it is, how the sun is beating down on you, and how sand managed to be covering every inch of yourself. Ah, the beach.
But just because I don't like visiting the beach doesn't mean I don't like crafting the beach. See, look here.....
...an entire beach scene! I used Wryn's Beach Bonanza which comes with all the stuff you see here (minus the sentiment).
Colouring scenes isn't my strong suit, for sure, but I thought I'd give it a go.
So, why not channel that warm salty (or fresh-water) breeze, seagulls, the smell of sunscreen, filthy washrooms, tired whiny kids.....okay maybe just that very first bit, and then head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up? And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Birthday Theme @ Little Red Wagon
This week at
it's Heather's turn as hostess and she wants to see a project with a birthday theme. How much easier does it get? (So easy in fact that I skipped right over it and mistakenly posted next week's challenge instead. D'oh! All fixed now though.)
This is what I did.....
Digi is from From the Heart Stamps and ain't it a scream? Love their Birdbrain Chick line. Sentiment was a freebie from Create With Tlc.
Now that, is most definitely my go-to layout right there. 5 x 5 card, scalloped circle with fussy cut image, one panel running behind.....I'll change up the other bits often enough, different embellis; sentiment, no sentiment, different style of sentiment etc. but that's the one I use most often. Sometimes I annoy myself when I find I'm using it yet again....but then the whole "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" saying comes to mind. I like this design, it works well with my style, and I think I change it up enough that it doesn't become too overly stale. (But if you disagree and think it looks like it tastes like bread that's been left out on the counter for a few days, do let me know.)

Anything Goes @ Tiddly Inks
For the next two weeks at
have we got an easy one for you! It's anything and everything goes....as long as you use a Tiddly Inks stamp, of course.
This is what I did......
I used one of the newest stamps, Wryn the BBQ Queen. Look at her, cooking up some tasty burgers and 'dogs. (I double checked to make sure I got that ' in there before the "dogs". Didn't want people to think Tiddly Inkers have a really scary sense of humour. ;-) ) You could use all sorts of different sentiments with this image. (Check out Lou's card. Her sentiment is awesome.) Or you could even use her on Summer Party/Bbq invites!
So, why not grab a Tiddly Inks image and enter the challenge? And be sure to also check out the fabulousness the DT has come up with.

All That Glitters - GDT @ Ooh La La Creations
Looking for my Melonheadz Friends card? Just scroll down. ↓
I was honoured to be asked to be a Guest Designer at
The challenge is "All That Glitters". I was given some images to work with, have to admit I've never used CD images before, so it was new territory for me. I think I did okay....
I choose this lovely rose image, printed it out on some textured cardstock and that's all I had to do to have it card ready. Easy!
I know, I know. That don't look very glittery. Here then, check this out....
Okay, it still doesn't look all that glittery. But, it does prove that I did indeed cover the rose with a coat of clear Wink of Stella pen. So, believe me when I say, it looks much more glittery in real life. I do like glitter, until I have to try to photograph it. Then I say lots of rude, uncomplimentary things about it.
If you'd like to check out the great things that Ooh La La has, just clicky here and it'll take you to the shop. And don't forget to check out the challenge to see what the other designers have made.

Celebrations @ Melonheadz Friends
For the next two weeks at
we've got an easy challenge for you! The challenge is "Celebrations" so pretty much anything goes!
This is what I did....
Made this for my oldest who is graduated from Grade 8 (with honours! I'm a proud Mama!) a couple of weeks ago. I used the Graduation bundle which has 12 different images. So versatile!
And, here's a pic of the aforementioned Grad....
Really wished I had noticed his tie so I could have straightened it before I took the pic. It's a bit short too....but I guess that's what you get when the 6' tall dad, who can only tie a tie on himself, is in charge of tying the tie for the 6'2" tall son. At least his doesn't have his John Deere belt buckle on. (Which he was planning on until I kiboshed it.)

Beware: Mermaids! - Fab Friday @ Tiddly Inks
It's Friday! First full week of summer vacation has been completed here. And hopefully this Friday starts off better than last Friday with that regard as I fielded a phone call from my middlest that had me close-to-hollering the following into the phone at him...."Are you really calling me, on the first day of summer vacation, to complain about the one job I asked you to do?!?! Are you seriously calling me at work to complain about unloading the dishwasher?!?!?"
Hopefully we've got the summer holiday kinks worked out now though. Speaking of summer, I've got a summery card to share.....
I was completely thrilled to find that cardstock sticker in my stash. Couldn't be more cute for this image. And speaking of cute....isn't this digi so sweet? It's called Magical Friendship and you can get it as either a digi or clear stamp. It comes with two sentiments too!
Make sure you go check out the other Fabby Friday makes the rest of the DT has come up with. You can see 'em right here.

Red & White @ Little Red Wagon
This week at
it's Carolyn's turn to pick the challenge and she wants us to celebrate Canada Day by making makes using the colours red & white.
This is what I did.....
Meh. Must admit there's nothing special to see here. And I'm not really overly showcasing white....and my red is leaning towards the orange end of the spectrum. But as you guys know, sometimes it is what it is.
But, I know the Girlfriends will have much better samples to show you. So, head on over to Little Red Wagon and check out their projects. (Make sure you say hi to the new members of our DT too!) And when you're done all that, link up. We love to see what you've made.
And finally, Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canucks! I was going to post a funny Canada Day pic here but I couldn't find a one that made me even chuckle. So, you'll just have to settle with my verbal wish to enjoy the day.
