Pretty Polka Dots @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it was my turn to choose the challenge and I went with polka dots. Well, I went with "pretty polka dots" but that was just so I could use a bit of alliteration. You can use wacky polka dots, or spooky polka dots or even polka dots that are beautiful only on the inside. Makes no never mind to me, just so long as they're dots. Or spots. Wouldn't want to discriminate against them. So, for the record, any and all kinds of dots, spots, or pips....heck, I'll even take dabs, droplets, flecks, specks, speckles or tittles. Well, as long as they're round, of course. Don't want to get too crazy here.

And, I really didn't get crazy at all. Just went with some plain, ordinary, run-of-the-mill variety polka dots.

Digi is a freebie from Paper Smooches.

Hey, doesn't anyone know why my sewing machine would just decide to skip putting in a stitch from time to time? Well, other than just to cheese me off, that is.

Lots of Layers @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

Joanne is challenging us to use lots of layers. And by lots, she means at least three. This was a super-duper simple one for me.

Ha! Is that sentiment a scream or what? It was a freebie from Create With Tlc. The little penguin was also a freebie. It's from Blackberry Jelly.

So, why not head on over to Little Red Wagon and enter the challenge? And be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have done.

Use A Sun @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

I'm hosting the challenge though I didn't pick it.....Girlfriend Carolyn has decided that she's going to step down from LRW. (Can I get an awwwwwwwww?) So, she picked this one, which is a pretty darn good one if you ask me.

I decided to try to channel Regan and I went with something a bit different for me........

Lots of stuff on there...buttons, burlap, felt, twine, sequins, mist, paper...and a sun, of course.

So, why not head on over to Little Red Wagon and enter the challenge? And be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have done.

Falling To Pieces @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Jayne's turn to pick the challenge and it's Falling To Pieces, which is her clever way to let us know that she wants to see paper piecing.

Now, I love paper piecing. But, I was feeling really bad about this challenge and the card I made for it. And I also feel bad about this......I'm a very private person so if someone did this to me, I'd be outraged. But, I feel if I do get this out there, maybe it'll be beneficial, not just to the person I'm talking about but to others as well. Anyway, here goes.....

I'm afraid I have some sad news. One of our DT Members is suffering in silence with a rare condition. It's not recognized by the medical community so she's unable to get the help she needs. Our wonderful friend, Jayne, has been afflicted with SSES, which for those not in the know is, Severe Silhouette Envy Syndrome. (I'm sorry, Jayne. Please don't hate me for telling people about this.) As you can imagine, the symptoms can be troubling at times, especially if you're a member of the crafting community. And especially if your fellow Design Team Member comes up with a card like this for the challenge you're hosting.

As you might have already guessed, all the paper piecing was done with my Silhouette Cameo.

But you don't have to use a Silhouette for paper piecing. You can just fussy cut, just like poor Jayne had to do. So, why not head on over to Little Red Wagon and enter the challenge? And be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have done.

And leave some extra love for Jayne this week, 'kay?  ;-)

Drunken Poultry

And, I don't believe they're even of age! But it appears that it's their birthday so I guess it can be forgiven.

I scored a Guest Chef spot (yay!) over at Catered Crop for the sequin challenge this week and it was just the kick in the pants I needed to finally quit waffling and by this digi from From the Heart Stamps which I had been eying up for awhile now.  It makes me smile every time I look at it.  It also makes me wonder how they managed to drink out of those glasses seeing as the glasses are taller than they are and, being chickens, or really, chicks, I don't think they'd have the wing control to hover and drink at the same time.

But, I might be over-thinking the whole concept just a wee bit.

Paper Dress @ UnstampaBelles

August is upon us so that means a brand new challenge at UnstampaBelles. This month, the challenge is "Paper Dress", which means just what it looks like it means, we want to see projects with paper dresses on them. Just remember - no stamps (unless they are sentiment stamps with less than four words).

Here's what I did.....

For the record that little flag that the "hello" is on photographed a lot greener than it is in real life. It's actually much more blue.

So, dress up (ha, ha!) those projects and then head on over to UnstampaBelles and enter the challenge. You have until August 31 to do so and you'll have the chance to win a prize from the Sticker Store.

I Made A Card

And, gosh darn, that's about all I've got to say.

And I know that's really boring of me.

I guess I'm just boring today. Heck, even what I titled the picture of this card is boring.

Meet "pink and black".

Yep, so dull I didn't even use capitals or an ampersand. And, for the record, ampersands are most definitely not boring. They're pretty cool if you ask me. 'Cept when I actually write one. Mine look like a backward 3 with a straight up cowlick and a straight down tail. Though, and this just occurred to me, if one was to describe an & in that manner it wouldn't seem boring at all.

And, I guess that's something anyway.
