Make It Count! @ Little Red Wagon

  This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Make It Count!" which just means that she would like to see numbers on your project.

This is what I did.....

Yeah, so mine is number instead of numbers.  I had every intention of adding some patterned paper with numbers on it to my card but I just couldn't make it work.  I'm hoping my prominent 2 will make up for the fact that there's just the one number.  I really wish I had the time (and patience!) to have printed my computer-generated sentiment right on the card front instead of a piece of cardstock.  But, seeing as it was late last night that I was making this, I took the easy way out.  Digi is from Mo's Digital Pencil.

So, why not give our challenge a go this week and join us?  And, if you'd like more inspiration, be sure to check out what the Girlfriends have made.

Digi Do! @ Little Red Wagon

  This week at

it's my turn to choose the challenge and I'm choosing one of my favourites - "Digi Do!".  I just want to see a digital stamp, image, sentiment, clip art etc. etc. etc....as long as it has some digital element, it's in!

This is what I digidid.....

I went with something a little different this week....I made an ATC.  (If you're not familiar with ATCs, they are artist trading cards.  I won't go into all the details, Google can tell you more about them better than I could.  I will say that ATCs are 2.5" x 3.5", so mini when compared to cards.)  I also coloured on textured cardstock....haven't done that in quite some time.

I'm not setting the best example here....after I finished this, another after midnight make on the day it's due.....I realized that I never put the creator's name on the digi file.  ):  I'm usually quite good at doing that so I can give the artist a shout out.  If anyone happens to know where this might have come from, do let me know and I'll update this post.

So, why not give our challenge a go this week and join us?  And, if you'd like more inspiration, be sure to check out what the Girlfriends have made.

Edited to add:  Huh.  It looks like I completely forgot to colour her lips.  If I get a chance, I'll remedy that and take a new photo.....chances are, I won't get the time to do that today....but can we all just acknowledge that I at least thought about doing it?  (:

Something Fishy Going On! @ Little Red Wagon

 This week at

it's Doni's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Something Fishy Going On!" which means that she would like to see fish on your projects.  Glub, glub!

This is what I did.....

When I first started this card, I had planned it just like it is.  But, I had printed the digi and the one fish to paper piece and then those elements lay on my craft desk for quite some time.  When I saw it there, unfinished, I got to thinking that maybe I should paper piece all the fish.  Figured it would look very colourful and I'd find it relaxing to just turn off my brain for awhile, to fussy cut all the fish and fish eyes.  Well, let's just say, that when I finished it last night, or should I say, early this morning.....I didn't figure I'd find anything relaxing about fussy cut fish at 12:36am.  Still, I think I'll maybe do the whole school paper pieced in the future.  I think it would look good enough to warrant all the cutting.  (:

Digi is an oooooooooooooooooooooooooold one from TAWS (The Alley Way Stamps).  Let's talk about the bling for a moment.  It was one of the first packages of bling I've ever purchased (so talking 12+ years now), and I've never seen any since like it.  The package calls them Bubbles & Bling Stickers and I've always loved them.....so much so that I panicked when I went looking for them for this card and didn't find them right away.  The digi has circles drawn for bubbles so placement was easy-peasy.  There may be a bubble on there that isn't in a circle....it fell when I was transferring it, and refused all attempts to be moved, even though the rest of the bubbles are not that sticky.  I know it's hard to tell in the photo, but they really do look like bubbles.  And, I'm happy to say, there's still quite a few left, so I can continue to hoard them.

Speaking of not being able to find things....that'll segue into a craft room update.  After yet another trip to Ikea last Friday (hopefully the last for awhile!!) I was able to get the final pieces I needed.   So, it's just a matter of getting it all together and getting everything put away.  I've got a lot of supplies already squared away....I have a desk with lots of drawers, so I decided to put my shape dies in a drawer for easy access.  Buuuuuuuut, when you don't remember you moved them to a drawer rather than in the basket where all the other dies are, you can spend a good 10 minutes thinking you're going crazy because you can't find them.  So, that was fun.  (:

Use Your Lace! @ Little Red Wagon

 This week at

it's Chrissy's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Use You Lace!" which obviously means she'd like to see lace on your project.

Now, when I went to make my card for this week, I pulled open the drawer with all my ribbon, trims and the like while chanting, "Please let there be lace in here."  And luckily, I did have a few pieces.  So, I made this.....

As you can see, I've got a lace frame around a pre-coloured image from LOTV.  I decided to print the digi on patterned paper, because I though it would be a nice look.  Totally didn't think that the paper in the typewriter wouldn't print white, so all I had was an outline of paper, not actual paper in the typewriter.  Solved that by printing the image again on white paper and then fussy cut it.  Stamped the heart on the paper and image was done.

Background paper is Core'dinations cardstock, embossed with a heart folder and then sanded.  I love that look.

So, why not give our challenge a go this week and join us?  And, if you'd like more inspiration, be sure to check out what the Girlfriends have made.
