Waterworks @ Squigglefly

This week at Squigglefly the challenge is "Waterworks" which means to use water is some way, shape, or form on your project. Feel free to get creative! Sure you could be predictable, like me and use a digi with a water theme, or you could go a different route and use watercolour paints, some dew drops to represent rain, make one of these flowers, or whatever! As long as water is in some way incorporated in your project, you're in.

Shut your pie-hole.

Not saying that to you, dear reader, honest. My daughter is behind me playing with her dolls and one doll just told the other doll "shut your pie-hole." Now, while there's definitely things that have popped out of my mouth in front of my kids I wouldn't want them to repeat, or even catch-phrases I've used that sound terrible coming out of a little person's mouth, that's not one of them. (We don't really even eat pie around here.)

Ah, just questioned the culprit. Apparently I have Disney XD to thank.

That has nothing to do with this card. But, I was able to come up with an eye-catching post title then.



Would make a nice wedding card, I'm thinking.

Something a bit different.

My attempt at getting artsy. I'm liking it but then again I've been readily accused of being so far from quirky that I can't even see it in my rear-view mirror anymore. Would love to hear what normal people think of it, so go ahead and leave a comment, good or bad.

Digi is from Digi Design House and it's actually a set of 4 digis and 1 sentiment all for under $3.00. What a steal!

I was totally thinking about cheating

Have you ever thought about it? I mean really sat down and had that conversation with your id. You know, that conversation where you try to convince yourself that "no one will ever find out" and in that case "it really wouldn't hurt anyone"?

Yep, I had that conversation just a little bit ago. I had purchased monthly challenge kit from my local scrapbooking store, Two Scrapbook Friends and today I was attempting to make a card with it. After having to perform major lifesaving surgery on my first go, I came up with this:



Ick, eh? Yeah, not liking that at all. So I reworked it yet again and came up with this:



Ah, better. Now here's where the cheating part comes in. (For those of you who were all prepared to weigh in on a serious moral discussion on infidelity or a lighter debate on the implications of cheating on a test, sorry we're just not that deep here at Huh. So this is a blog.) I was all prepared to post the first card on their forum and go whistle-tiptoeing away and never, ever letting on that two seconds after I took that picture the right side of the card got hacked off by my paper trimmer, therefore not using all the products in the kit, which is against the rules. (Not to mention the fact that that was my plan even before I took the photo. The observant among you will notice that the cardstock on the second card is embossed. Heck, I hadn't even taped down the panel before I took that first pic.)

I bet you're all a twitter wondering what I did. I couldn't cheat. I'm just too far removed from my rebellious teenage ways and I'm now pretty much a rule follower. I basically did the same thing I did here, showed the before and after. So, while I won't be in the draw for winning next month's challenge kit free, I can continue on knowing that my moral compass is pointing........wait, where the heck does a moral compass point anyway? Now, I can go away knowing I did the right thing, and that I'll be shelling out $3.99 + hst for the September kit.
