A Hard Day's Night! @ Little Red Wagon

 This week at

it's Kate's turn to choose the challenge.  It's her first challenge of 2022 and she's got a theme going again this year....Beatles songs!  This week's challenge is "A Hard Day's Night!" which means she would like to see projects that are work/job related.

Now this one stumped me at first.  I wasn't sure of what to do.....but then I thought of one of the hardest working people out there and I came up with this....

Coz, really, is there anyone harder working than Santa himself?  I was originally planning on doing a scene with Santa and his reindeer flying over some houses, but when I was going through my Santa digi file, I saw this vintage image from Create With Tlc and decided to use it instead.  Santa's probably on the phone with some parent who went through with their "Behave or I'm gonna call Santa" threat.  Or maybe he's on a conference call with some of the elves.  Or he could be ordering some reindeer feed (as I doubt the conditions at the North Pole allow for growing crops).  Anyhoo, he does appear to be working in some capacity.  Tag is from LOTV.

Make It Open! @ Little Red Wagon

 This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Make It Open!" which just means that she want to see a project that opens somehow, like gatefold card, easel card, some sort of box...etc. etc. etc.

This is what I did.....

This is a double easel card.  Coz....

....as you can see from this side view, it's got an extra fold, so that makes it a double easel rather than a regular easel.

I feel like I wasted an opportunity with this challenge.  I've been wanting to tackle a box card, since FOREVER, and still haven't.  This would have been the perfect challenge to do that for!  Instead I went kinda basic....though, I have never made a card like this.  Image is a freebie colouring book page.

Pick Patterned Paper! @ Little Red Wagon

 This week at

it's my turn to choose the challenge and I'm saying, "Pick Patterned Paper!" which just mean that I want to see patterned paper on your project.  You can go with a lot or just one lil tiny strip and, it's in!

This is what I did....

I used up a bunch of paper scraps with this one.  Just stuck 'em on a scrap piece of cardstock and used a die from Stamplorations to cut it.  It's a great way to get those scraps used up!  Digi is from Bugaboo Stamps, which is now closed.  ):

I'm not sure why I took this photo while looming over my card or something.  It a weird angle, but I don't think it needs retaken.  More like, I don't want to bother to retake it, actually.  (:

New Beginnings! @ Little Red Wagon

 This week at

it's Chrissy's turn to choose the challenge and she saying, "New Beginnings!" which just means she wants to see those projects about new things, like babies, or jobs, or homes, or stash or....well, anything new!  This is what I did....

I made a couple of simple baby cards to have on hand in my stash.  Image is from Melonheadz Illustrating, and I incorporated it into a computer generated sentiment.  Nikki's art is still one of my favourites.  Love those bold lines and super cuteness.

I hope everyone's start to 2022 has been a crafty one.  My start to the year included renovating our office/craftroom.  To justify buying new furniture, I decided I would handle most of the renos myself, with the help of my kids and their datemates.  I hate painting, and I said I would never do it again, I would hire someone, but there I was, painting on New Year's Day (and after), and hating every moment of it.  My daughter and boyfriend helped with the wall patching (the room was previously a toy/rec room so the walls got lots of abuse) and then my daughter helped paint.  The room is still in disarray, I've bought IKEA furniture, and anyone who has ever put IKEA stuff together knows it takes an entire f#$k-ton of hours.  My middlest and his girlfriend have helped out with that, but we've still got a few things to go.  I'd say I'll share pictures of it when it's done, but it might not be for awhile, as I couldn't get all the pieces of furniture I wanted.  IKEA is having the same supply chain issues as everyone else.  Maybe if I could have gotten it all completed before today, I could have used my new space as my New Beginnings make - ha!  (:
