Design Dollies Card

I really like the premise of the Design Dollies . The have 3 different challenges a week and they challenge you to try to complete a card using all 3 challenges. It appeals to my competitive nature. ;-)

This week I was able to make a card using all 3 challenges, in other words it's a "triple threat challenge." I'm not totally in love with the way the "2U" turned out but I guess it'll do.

Orange!

It's funny, I made this card, took the picture and was all set to upload it when I decided I should add "something more." I changed it slightly, took a picture and then got busy. Now I'm finally ready to post and I got looking at the pictures. I decided I like the original card better so that's the one I posted. Should have trusted my instincts in the first place!

When I was done I saw some of my scraps sitting there and they were the perfect size for a bookmark. Plus then it fits with a card challenge. (Imagine that!)

This card is for the challenge at Ann's Creative Nook - sketch and 1 colour + white, Cupcake Craft - matching set (bookmark below) and Pile It On (though not much of a pile) - warm wishes 'cause orange definitely screams warm.

Good Gravy....

....somebody stop me! This is what happens when I'm left alone, practically kidless for the whole weekend. Housework? Bah, who cares, dirt will help build their immune systems. Walk the dog? Well....oh look it's pouring rain out, aw shucks can't do it. Make another card? Hmmm....I guess, since there's nothing else to do.

The bow on this darn near killed my perfectionist self.

This is my take on the CPS 151 sketch and it's also for Crazy 4 Challenges (I'll say!) Pretty in Pink.

Another card!

For someone who wasn't sure about this whole blogging thing I'm sure going to town.

This card fits for the following challenges:

Paper Play - handwritting (Well, handprinting, I guess. My writing is atrocious!)
Sketchy Thursday - Second Chance Challenge sketch
The Play Date Cafe - white, blue, red & black
and the first challenge that inspired me to make this card.....EtsyInspired - Sweetie Pie Tutus - Not only are the tutus absolutely gorgeous I love the big beautiful flowers on the headbands.

4 Challenges with 1 card

During a rare quiet Saturday afternoon with no hockey (*gasp*) and no kids (*double gasp*) I was able to spend some "me" time and make this card.

It's for the following challenges:

SPCC # 31 - red, apricot and pink
Design Dollies - sketch
Caardvarks - red heart challenge
Easy Breezy "Kewl" - red, white, pink and suede

On an unrelated note, I suddenly noticed that I have a "follower!" Hey, Dee. *waving at Dee* It's nice of you to join!

On a roll...

Look at me blog!

This is the card I'm going to give my son for his birthday. Much more fitting than the previous one I think.

I also made this for OCC blue & green colour challenge and it's also my take on Sketch 44 from 2S4Y.

First posted card

Due to an overwhelming amount of comments requesting I post a card here goes.....

I had originally made this card for my son's birthday but then I decided it was too babyish for a boy turning 9. It could be used for a birthday card for a younger boy, especially tying in with the "leaping lizards" by putting something like "You're turning _____!" on the inside. Ooh, ooh, I just thought of something....I could also be used as a baby card with a simple "It's a boy! Congratulations" on the inside.

I'm going to submit this card to CPS #150 for their card sketch.

My first ever post...ever

Okay...so I'm a complete social networking newbie. I'm not on Facebook or Twitter, I don't IM people, heck, I don't even text. (Now stop thinking I'm old, 'cause I'm not......well I guess that would depend on the age of the person reading this.)

I really don't even want to have a blog. See, in the past two months I've started a new hobby, cardmaking. And in the past two weeks I've started a new obsession, entering cardmaking challenges. I have been uploading my pictures to Photobucket and linking to the challenges that way, which works just fine, thank you very much. But, after clicking on the links to view some of the other lovely cards entered into the challenges I've noticed EVERYONE HAS A BLOG!

So I got curious.....and all these questions started rolling around my head like, "So, how does one get a blog?" and "How hard is it to run a blog?," and "Is the tomato really a vegetable or is it actually a fruit?" Okay, that last one isn't exactly relevant here but still a valid question.

Then I noticed that little button at the top of a blog I was perusing, "create blog." Could it really be so simple? Surely, not. I mean then anyone with an opinion, mission, beef, idea, creation, vent, inclination, judgement, notion, thought, view or conception could have their own blog........hmmm I guess it is that simple.

I never thought I'd ever have a blog. I'm not interesting. Aside from raising my kids and some various mundane hobbies, I don't do anything. I don't go anywhere. I really don't have anything to say (thought it seems that, right now, I can't shut up, but it's my blog so I'll yak if I want to, yak if I want to, yak if I want to......ahem sorry 'bout that, as you can see I also can't sing). I honestly believe that there's not one person out there who would be interested in what I have to say. (I mean, if I can't get my kids to listen to me why on earth would I expect a total stranger?)

So, stranger (and I mean that as a noun, not an adjective) welcome to my blog...such as it is. Pretty boring, I'm probably doing something wrong as I make this, (and you'll notice I totally overuse commas and brackets) and here I sit typing with a child straddled behind me using my back as a DS table when I should be getting wrangling the wee ones to bed. Maybe I'll start posting my cards here rather than on Photobucket....or maybe I won't. Oooh, I bet you can hardly wait to see which I decide.

Okay, so now I guess I just hit "publish post......"

Though, before I do, if you want to weigh in on that tomato question, I'm all ears.
