Round and Round @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Mandy's turn to choose the challenge and, well I guess she's feeling at little dizzy, 'coz she's going "Round and Round". Yeppers, she wants to see projects using lots of circles.

This is what I did.....

Yep, it's a Christmas card. I'm trying to make good on the promise I made myself back in December, when I was actually done all my Christmas crafting a couple of weeks before Christmas. (And that felt soooooooooooo good, let me tell you. Only problem was that I then baked more goodies.....and therefore ate myself through the holidays.) I decided I wanted to be done that early again this year. And every year henceforth.

I think I've definitely got my Good DT Example quota of circles filled on this. A scalloped circle base, a cardstock circle, a patterned paper circle with circles on it, another piece of patterned paper with words on it with lots of Os, 5 bling (which are also circles) and the word joy, which has an O and a tittle (which is what the dot over the j is called).

Speaking of the word JOY, I gotta expound on that. I dunno know about the rest of you cardmakers but one of my biggest pet peeves is the fact that all Christmas/holiday sentiments are so gosh-durn long. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Season's Greetings, Feliz Navidad, Merry & Bright etc. etc. I can never find room on my cards for those greetings! "Joy" is my go-to Christmas sentiment, though I have also used "Peace" and "Believe" from time to time. But those words aren't exactly greetings, kwim? I would much rather put a Christmas wish for someone on my cards rather than just a simple word.

So, as a community, I think we should come up with a few succinct holiday greetings, you know, to make our crafting lives easier. I'm thinking something like, "HapHo" or "MeMas" or, seeing as here in Canada we have two official languages, "JoNo". In this day and age of text-speak and short forms I think it could really catch on. Besides, wouldn't it be awesomely fun to toss out a "SeGree" or a "HapMas" to people during those few weeks before Christmas?  I know I'd have a blast.

So, why not get all circular and enter the challenge? Then you can head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up.  And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Happy Birthday @ Tiddly Inks

For the next two weeks at

we want to see those birthday projects, including a Tiddly Inks image, of course!

This is what I did.....

You know, this is the first Wryn I ever bought. In fact, I believe it might even be the first Wryn that was ever made, seeing as the name of it is Wryn and all.  I've always loved this image.  I mean, really, does it get much cuter than this?

So why not celebrate someone's birthday and enter the challenge?  And be sure to also check out the fabulousness the DT has come up with.

Also for:

Ribbon/Lace/Twine @ Melonheadz Friends

For the next two weeks at

http://melonheadzfriends.blogspot.ca/

we've got another easy one for you! We just need to see ribbon or lace or twine or your project.....or you can be a real keener and you can have ribbon, lace and twine on your make. That'll impress us!

This is what I did.....

Hey look, it's not a card! Nope, it's a bookmark and made my own tassel for it.  Have to admit, it didn't turn out quite as good as I would have liked, but it'll do the trick.  Originally I had planned to put an exclamation mark after "read" so when my son looked at it then it would look way more like a command than a suggestion but, as you can see, I just didn't have the room.

I used a past freebie for this but if you'd like to see all the fabulous Melonheadz images just click on over to the Etsy shop.

So, why not get out that spooled stuff and enter the challenge? And be sure to check out what the rest of the DT has made.

Get Well Soon - Fab Friday @ Tiddly Inks

My gosh, I've got to start coming up with more exciting titles than that! Zzzzzzzzz.....so boring! But it looks like I'm going to continue on in that theme 'coz I really ain't got anything to say.

So, here's my card........

I've had this image for a good long time (pre-DT days) and I really can't believe this is the first time I've coloured it up. (At least I'm pretty sure it is the first time. Huh, now I'm second guessing myself. No, yeah, it is the first time.....I think....) It's called Wryn - New Wings. Super sweet and can be used for a get well soon card or even a friendship card.  Or a card for a veterinarian.....if you give cards to your vet, that is.  Personally, I don't, but if I did you can bet I'd use this image.

Make sure you go check out the other fabulous Fabby Friday makes the rest of the DT has come up with.  You can see 'em all right here.

Bloomin' Fun! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Donna's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Bloomin' Fun!" which just means that she wants to see flowers on your project!

I did something a bit different.....

I decorated a kraft bag. I would like to say that I decorated two kraft bags but apparently this is the last kraft bag left on earth as I went to five different stores to try to find another kraft bag but came up empty. And I wanted it for tomorrow (today), of course, so I believe that's why the world sold out of them. There was lots of pressure on me not to mess up making this seeing as it's the last of its kind and all.

So, why not dig out (but not up) your flowers and enter the challenge? Then you can head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up.  And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Father's Day or Masculine @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

we're celebrating all the dads out there! Yep, we want to see those Father's Day makes, or a masculine project would be just fine too.

This is what I did.....

I used a digi from Lori Boyd.  I have to say, I did that poor grandson no favours with the way I coloured his hair.  That's exactly how my boys' hair would look if I decided to cut it at home.  They should thank me everyday that I've never tried.

So, why not make something for a dad and enter the challenge? Then you can head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up.  And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Let Your Tiddly Flow @ Tiddly Inks

For the next two weeks at

we want you to "Let Your Tiddly Flow".....and that just means anything with a Tiddly Inks image goes!

This is what I did.....

I used one of my most favourite Tiddlys, You and Me. This card is really lacking in the embelli department but, at the time, I just didn't want to cover up that yummy patterned paper.  Now I'm thinking ribbon and a bow on the right side of the circle with a gold button in the middle would have looked good.  Who knows, maybe I'll take 'er apart and do just that!

So why not grab one of your fave Tiddly Inks and enter the challenge?  And be sure to also check out the fabulousness the DT has come up with.

Also for:

Add Sparkle @ Melonheadz Friends

For the next two weeks at

http://melonheadzfriends.blogspot.ca/

we want to see you glam it up! Yeppers, it's all about the bling and the glitter, we want to see projects with that added sparkle!

This is what I did.....

I did the herringbone background again and used up the last scraps of my most favouritest paper pad ever.  And, in my effort to make the last itsy-bitsy pieces I had left work, I kinda messed up with the application of the strips, but I've chosen to think it works anyways.

And, as always, the sparkle doesn't jump of the page in the photo.  Well, not only do I have some Stickles on the pail there, I have 18 blings on there.  (Yes, I know "gems" is the word I should be using but I've always preferred saying bling to gems.  Gems always makes me think of actual gemstones......and I don't think I'm getting them for $2 a package at my LSS.)

I used a past freebie but if you want to see all the fantabulous Melonheadz images for sale just clicky on over to the Etsy shop.

So, why not pile on all that glitters and enter the challenge? And be sure to check out what the rest of the DT has made.

Warm Wishes - Fab Friday @ Tiddly Inks

First Friday in May!  And now that the weather is getting warmer what did I go and make?  A Christmas card, that's what!  And here it is.....

I used one of my most favourite Tiddly images, Cocoa Wishes.  Don't mind poor little Wren there.  I was attempting to make him sparkly when the Wink of Stella pen upchucked all over him.  I cleaned him off but he did get a little faded.  Seeing as the paper was already so compromised I didn't bother trying to recolor him.

Make sure you go check out the other fabulous Fabby Friday makes the rest of the DT has come up with.  You can see 'em all right here.

Anything But a Card @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

I've got a challenge that might make you groan. (I'll admit to groaning when I see this challenge on my DT list. But, since I set it, that probably means I've already got a non-card project made, so no groaning required!) The challenge is "Anything But a Card" which is pretty durn self-explanatory. And, honestly, I don't care what kind of crafty project you enter, could be paper, could be sewing, could be photography, could be a quilt, could be an altered project or whatever! Just as long as you made it, and it's not a card, it's all good.

This is what I did.....

Made this sign for my oldest (the sheep farmer).  As you can see the vinyl was TERRIBLY full of bubbles.  After trying to smooth them out for a bit I eventually gave up decided that the sheep's wool needed to look somewhat textured and went with it.  I just love those sheep.

So, why not do something other than a card and enter the challenge? Then you can head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up.  And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.
