We Are the Champions! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Kate's turn to choose the challenge and she's continuing with her songs by Queen theme and going with one of their most popular this week and is saying, "We Are the Champions!" which means she wants to see congratulation cards.

This is what I did....

I let this funky patterned paper do most of the talking with this one.  Just typed our the congrats! in Word added a couple of fun foam die cut flowers, added some twine, a charm, a couple of gems and a button and called it a day.  (:

So, why not give our challenge a go this week and join us?  And, if you'd like more inspiration, be sure to check out what the Girlfriends have made.

Cards That Are Hard to Make @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying she wants to see those cards that are hard to make....like sympathy, sorry, etc.  Great chance to add those cards to your stash so you don't have to make one when you actually need it.

This is what I did....

I went with a sympathy card.  I always find it really sucks to have to make a sympathy card when you need it, so I always have a couple in my stash.  I tend to keep my sympathy makes fairly muted and plain.  Not that a sympathy card has to be.  I've seen some lovely ones that are very colourful, but that's not something I find I can do with these types of cards.  And, since they are almost always going in the mail, I tend to leave off embellishments too.

That flower layer is a digi stamp from Artherapie.

Bling On the Bling! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's yours truly's turn to choose the challenge and I'm saying, "Bling On the Bling!" which just means I want to see those sparkly bits and bobs on your makes.  So, glam it up!

I know it's normally, bring on the bling but when I was first setting the challenge, I mistakenly typed bling instead of bring....and well, here we are.  I like to think that saying "Bling On the Bling!" instead of "Bring On the Bling!" might make some of you add the bling in a more spectacular way.  Kinda like this....

But, hey, you can add your bling slow and controlled too.....it's all good.

Anyhoo, this is what I did....

Let's see....I've got some gems, sparkly Gumdrops and if you look really close...

....you can see I've got some Stickles and some glimmer/sparkle mist too.  Digi is from Gracellie Design.

Frenchified! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Shani's turn to choose the challenge and she's got an absolutely fun one for us this week.  Shani, who lives in France, is saying, "Frenchified!" which means she wants us to incorporate Frenchness in our project.  So, think the Eifel Tower, croissants, cheese, escargots, kissing (hoh, hoh, hoh), a sentiment en Francais, or even.....

french fries!  Now, I know I should have been a good Canadian and went with some actual French.  And initially, that was indeed the plan.  My original thought was to go with a pretty lady image or the like and pair it with the sentiment: Oh là là.  But, french fries won out....like they generally do, at least for me, when it comes to forms of potatoes.

Image is clip art, I just printed it out twice, once to colour and once at the bottom of a page, then folded it, and cut it out, leaving part of the top uncut.  An easy way to make a shaped card.  Coloured the fries, paper pieced the fry container, added the googly eyes, and that was about that.  I always say, the only thing better than googly eyes on a card, is two different sized googly eyes.  The sentiment inside is as follows:

Would have been great if I could have incorporated French there....but I have frites for only you doesn't really work on the punniness scale.  So I let the fries stand as the only French thing.  Now, if I had any talent, I could have made my fries into poutine, because that's a very French-Canadian thing....and it's delicious too.  I once had poutine at The Canadian Potato Museum in Prince Edward Island (PEI), and let me tell you, amazing doesn't even cover how good it was.  My daughter and I talk about driving out there again just to have the poutine (it's a 1840km drive which would take about 19 hours of straight driving) and we're not completely joking.  Drat, now I'm hungry for poutine.

Feel Better! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Doni's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying she wants to see those makes that are all about encouragement and/or making someone feel better.  I think everybody could use a card like that from time to time.

This is what I did.....

I think this digi with included sentiment is perfect for helping someone through a rough patch.  It's from Sherry West Art.  I ended up printing it a bit too big from my usual sized card, which is why I went with this layout.
