"B"elieve It! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

you're stuck with me as your host and I'm not gonna make it the easiest on you. Nope, I'm gonna make you think a bit. My challenge is "B"elieve It! which means I wanna see things that start with the letter B on your projects.

This is what I did....

Digi is Birthday Candle Birdbrain from From the Heart Stamps. The Birdbrain line cracks me up.  Let's see, I've got a bird who has a beak, the colours blue & black, the word birdie, bling and it's a birthday card.  Yep, it's a beautifully and bountifully bodacious birthday bulletin befitting a baroness.  Okay, that's a little bit overboard.  It's, at best, a bit blithe but a bright birthday bidding.

Boo-yah!

You know you could rock this challenge so why not head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up? And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Now, I had a super-busy weekend and Monday so I was able to get only one image coloured up. But you'll be seeing some of the other newbies from me in the next little bit to be sure!

So here's Wryn - Mom and Me....

Such a beautiful image, isn't it? Perfect for Mother's Day cards, to be sure.

So Sweet @ Tiddly Inks

For the next two weeks at

the challenge is "So Sweet" which means we want to see a sweet treat on your project. And a Tiddly Inks image too, of course!

This is what I did....

I used Sweet Treat Wryn....but I cropped her and used only part of her.  I wanted the "sweet treat" part to really stand out.  Love that the ice cream cone looks almost as big as she does.  Oh, and the sentiment came from Annabelle Sweetness.  I must say I absolutely love that flower paper.  Will have to hoard my remaining piece!

So, why not indulge your sweet tooth and whip up a card for the challenge.  And be sure to also check out the fabulousness the DT has come up with.

Add Sparkle @ Melonheadz Friends

For the next two weeks at

http://melonheadzfriends.blogspot.ca/

the challenge is "Add Sparkle" which means we want to see all that glitters and shines.....gems, bling, Stickers, glitter etc. etc. etc.

This is what I did.....

I've got me some gems, Stickles and some sparkly sequins and micobeads inside that shaker star.  I've also got me a wonderful image from the Happy Birthday bundle.  Lots of awesome stamps for all your birthday projects!

Now, I've got a tip I want to share with you.  (In the interest of full disclosure I did not come up with this myself.  I got it from The Spotted Chick.)  And, if you are a shaker card maker and if you've never heard of this tip before.....well......you might want to remove your socks.  'Coz this is gonna blow 'em off.

Ready?  Instead of using foam tape, which as you know is a ROYAL PAIN to use on any shape that isn't completely straight lines and will lift at the bend marks and no matter how much you try to press it down at those points it'll still lift to let out a shower of shaker innards OR if you try to cut at curves instead of bending you won't get stuff lined up perfectly and you'll be sending in gluedots and little trimmed bits of pop dots to try to plug the leak and you end up yelling "I hate foam tape!" out of sheer frustration.  And it's also horrible if you have a frame that's thinner than your tape and you have to cut the foam tape in half and once you've got that done.....well, just start reading at "to use on any shape that isn't completely straight lines" and go from there.

If you haven't guessed, I'm not a fan of foam tape.  I'm also not very good at using my grammar today as the above paragraph is totally an incomplete sentence.  So, let me try again.  Instead of using foam tape to make a shaker card......use fun foam.

Yep, fun foam.  Those thin sheets of foam that come from the Dollar Store in big stacks with all different colours.  All you gotta do is cut a piece of fun foam with the exact same die you used for your frame.  I know, I know, if you're like me at all your probably making a wrinkly-nosed grimace (the facial expression, not the purple McDonald's character that used to slightly freak me out as a child) face 'coz if the fun foam is the same size as the frame, well, then the fun foam will be very visible, like glaringly noticeable and that would totally fall into the category of Not Good.

But wait.  Remember this.....fun foam comes in all different colours.  Like red and blue and green and lime green and forest green and yellow and purple and mauve and white and that exact same shade of pink that I used for my card base and twine and Stickles and patterned paper.

If you look close enough, you can see the fun foam peeking out in a couple of spots.  And, it totally doesn't matter 'coz it totally matches with everything else.  And that'll wipe that skrinked up look up your face it short order.

It might even have you yelling, "I love fun foam!" just like I did when I made this.

You know you've got lots of sparkly bits in your crafty stash so why not enter the challenge? And be sure to check out what the rest of the DT has made.

Beachy Keen - Fab Friday @ Tiddly Inks

Another Friday.....and an icky Friday it is. Well, I shouldn't say that. Technically, (at the time of writing this) it's still Thursday. And, I guess it's not Friday's fault that there's snow on the ground. (At least not yet. If there's still snow on the ground tomorrow I'm going to be blaming Friday, fer sure.) What happened to spring?!? (She wails as a quick glance at the forecast shows it feels like -10ÂșC outside right now.) Spring, please come back!!

Maybe this will help....

Okay, so it's not spring.....but it does make me feel warmer anyways.  This is My Beach Boy.  He's one of the new releases.  Don't ya just love him?  And his little friends too?  I especially love that happy lil crab.  So cute!

Make sure you go check out the other Fabby Friday makes the rest of the DT has come up with.  You can see 'em right here. And don't forget, there's a DT Call going on right now. It's a completely awesome team to be on, so why not enter!

Spots, Dots & Blots! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

Joanne has hosting duties and she's saying, "Spots, Dots & Blots" which simply means she wants to see projects with any or all of those.

This is what I did....

Can't say I didn't adhere to the challenge with this one!  Got all kinds of dots on there.  There's even tiny confetti glitter and microbeads in the star shakers and I'm saying those count too.

Speaking of HBD 2U....it's my daughter's 10th birthday today.  Makes me feel old to have all my kiddos in double digits now.  Thought I'd post a pic of her.....

I know I'm biased but ain't she sweet?  We're spending the day together, out for lunch and a pedicure this afternoon.  Well, pedicure for her, not for me.  I spend most of my life making sure nothing (aside from footwear) is touching my feet.  (Just ask my poor son who vies for a coveted foot-resting spot on the rail that runs under our kitchen table how many times he's received The Look across the table and heard me grump, "You're touching my feet.")  So, I can't imagine actually paying someone to do it.

You know you could rock this challenge so why not head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up? And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

New Fabulous Releases @ Tiddly Inks

It's not Fabby Friday this week....well, actually it kinda is. Maybe not the official Fab Friday, the one with capital letters and all, but it's still a fabulous Friday as there's some new releases at Tiddly Inks - yay!!

Did you guys see the ones that came out on Tuesday? And did you grab your freebie? If you happened to miss 'em, you can catch up by clicking here.  (And if you'd like to see all the newbies, just clicky here.)

I'm gonna show you the new images that are being released today. And here they are.....

This is Double Trouble.  Went with some grayscale tones for the colouring for a different look.  Hey, alpha stickers makers.....I got a bone to pick with you.  What's wrong with punctuation, huh?  Specifically apostrophes.  I mean, I can deal with "aint" and not having a comma after heavy, but I twitch a little every time I look at the word "he s".

Next up we've got Arvis - Faythe's Brother.....

I'll admit, me mojo took a serious dive and I really had to struggle to get this handsome fellow on a card.  And, I don't know if I accidentally grabbed the wrong white cardstock or what but he looks super-duper textured, doesn't he?  Anyhoo, don't let my ineptitude dissuade you from snatching up this wonderful stamp!

Make sure you stop by the blog to see what the rest of the team has done with all the new releases.  I know they'll have some amazing eye candy for you!

Travelogue @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Heather's turn to choose the challenge and she's going with "Travelogue" which means she wants to see projects that are inspired by another country.

Now I'll admit, this one had me stumped for a bit. I am not a well travelled person so I was doing a lot of the racking of the brain, looking over my digis, and scanning my patterned papers and embellies to try to figure somethin' out for this one.

Finally, I came up with this.....

Not the clearest graphic (I did print it out in blurry sepia so it really wasn't supposed to be super-clear) but you'll probably still recognize it as the Palace of Westminster and the River Thames in London. England, that is. Not to be confused with London, Ontario which would not be "another country" for me and therefore not eligible for the challenge.  And, it's not like London, On has any really iconic landmarks I could make a card out of.  Oh wait, I just thought of a totally recognizable treasure from London, Ontario......

Ah, Ryan. You just get me.

So, why don't you get out your baker's twine, and other crafty stuffs, and head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up? And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Spring's In @ Tiddly Inks

For the next two weeks at

we're celebrating the season of spring! Yeppers, we want to see your creations with a spring vibe and feel. And don't forget to use a Tiddly Ink image.

And, I should tell you, Christy's got some exciting things coming up, including a DT Call (and let me tell ya, it's a fabulous team to be on) and new images. Scoot on over to her blog for all the scoop.

But, for right now, here's the card I made for the challenge......

This is such a lovely image....and I only used part of it.  I like to crop my digis sometimes, it's like getting a whole new image!  Speaking of images....this one's Wryn - New Nest.  Perfect for baby cards, or new home cards, heck, you could use it as a hello card (seeing as the sweet lil bird is waving and all) or even a bird-day card.  (Ha, see what I did there.)  Possibilities are endless!

So why not spring (tee hee) over to your crafty space and whip up a card for the challenge! And be sure to also check out the fabulousness the DT has come up with.

2 Or More Designer Papers @ Melonheadz Friends

For the next two weeks at

http://melonheadzfriends.blogspot.ca/

the challenge is to use two or more designer papers. That's pretty darn easy for me seeing as I usually go with a simple but layered style. So, I decided to make it more of a challenge for me by limiting myself to only two patterned papers.

And here it is......

Don't ya just love his hat and mitts?  I used Snowman Bobbleheadz.  I've linked you to the combo pack, so you can get both the black & white AND coloured in images.

I feel almost nervous posting this card as we've finally got spring here.  Don't want to jinx this lovely weather!  But, I do like having another Christmas card to add to the pile.

You know you've got lots and lots and lots of designer paper in your crafty stash so why not enter the challenge? And be sure to check out what the rest of the DT has made.

Thank Ewe - Fab Friday @ Tiddly Inks

It's Friday! And a special Friday it is. Later today I'll be going to Scrapfest - yahoo!!  For those of you not from the area, Scrapfest is where a whole bunch of craft/art/scrapbook/stamp stores haul a portion of their stores to the Aud in Kitchener so it's a one-stop shopping bonanza!  Again, yahoo!!  And I get to (over)feed my addiction for embossing folders and charms.  (Which wouldn't be an issue at all if I then actually used embossing folders and charms with any semblance of regularity.)

But you didn't come here to be jealous of what I get to spend a portion of my afternoon and evening doing, you came to see my latest Tiddly Inks make. (Or you just stumbled in from wherever with no expectations whatsoever. And, hey, that's cool too.)

So, this is what I've got for you....

Gotta love those lambs!  They're from the Thank Ewe and Ewe Rock set.  $4.00 for both - what a deal!  Got my Silhouette to do the paper piecing so it was easy-peasy.

Do go check out the other Fabby Friday makes the rest of the DT has come up with.  You can see 'em right here.

This week at

it's Collette's turn to choose the challenge and she's going with "Spring is in the Air" 'coz she wants to see a floral theme.

This is what I did.....

Nuthin' says spring like daffodils! Digi is from Some Odd Girl.

Call The Vet! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Susie's turn as host and she's yelling, "Call the Vet!" Are one of her furry friends in distress? Naw, she just wants to see projects with animals or animal print on them.

This is what I did.....

This is the card I made for my sheep farming son.  Not sure whether he appreciates the sheep-every-time stance I've taken whenever I need to make a card for him but it makes me snicker so I ain't stoppin'.  Digi is from Bugaboo Stamps.

You know you've got some animal stamps or papers in your stash so why not head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up? And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.
