Hello 2017 @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Heather's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying "Hello 2017" which means she wants to see those New Year's projects.

I was kinda at a loss over what to do so I did some online searching for inspiration. I found a super cool free printable....

....and the rest was easy.

So, why not welcome the New Year with us and head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up?  And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Happy (almost) 2017 to everyone!  I'll see you in the new year.

Follow the Star @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Sandy's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Follow the Star" which means she wants to see projects that have stars on them.

I took the challenge very, very literally....

...and made an advent calendar where you are literally following the star. And, to kick it up a notch, I die cut the star out of star paper. You could say I'm an all-star.

Bwahahahahahahahahaha  (I didn't put a period at the end of that sentence so I could reserve the right to continue to chuckle over my pun for the rest of the day, just so you know.)

Well, my friends, this is the last you'll see of me before Christmas.  Little Red Wagon is rolling on through with weekly challenges so I'll be back next week for that, but Tiddly Inks is taking a break until February and I don't know if/when I'll be back with Melonheadz Friends as, despite frequent requests from our DT members to the DT leader about posting the upcoming challenge themes, we don't have any planned challenges past the one that happened on Monday.

Anyhoo, I hope everyone has an absolutely wonderful holiday full of love, laughter, food and friendship.  Merry Christmas and Season's Greetings to you all!

Time For Christmas @ Melonheadz Friends

For the next two weeks at

http://melonheadzfriends.blogspot.ca/

the challenge is about what you'd expect it to be....we want to see your Christmas projects.

I did something slightly different than my norm.....

I used an image from the Christmas Stuff pack.  I've linked you to the combo bundle so you can get both the black & white AND coloured images.

No colouring here, just printed the digi out on some patterned paper.  I like to cock my head a bit sideways when I look at those holly berries.  Makes them look like they're very happy, smiley berries, it does.

So, why not celebrate all things Christmas and enter the challenge? And be sure to check out what the rest of the DT has made.

Christmas Carols @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Kate's turn to choose the challenge and she's got a fun one for us! She wants to see projects that incorporate Christmas songs/carols in them.

This is what I did....

As you can see that brown patterned paper has the words from The 12 Days of Christmas all over it.

Digi is from Skapar Kallarn, and you can find the digis on Facebook or, to a lesser extent, the Etsy shop.

So, why not head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up?  And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

And, I thought I'd leave you with my favourite version of The 12 Days of Christmas. You've probably seen it before but it's still tons of fun.

Merry Christmas @ Tiddly Inks

For the next two weeks at

we're saying "Merry Christmas" to you and yours with our last challenge of the year. So, let's see those Christmas projects....using a Tiddly Inks image, of course!

This is what I did.....

I used Santa's Helper. I love this guy, I think I've used him for at least one Christmas card for the past few years. Christy's new images are just gorgeous....but there's something about her older ones that make me fall in love with TIs all over again.

Look at that rub on sentiment, my friends.  Go on, look at it.  That's a whole lot of rub on right there. When I decided I was going to use it I thought I'd end up dead before I ever got it on the card.  See, me and rub ons don't get on so good.  But that's because I'm ridiculously cheap and most of my rub on have come from the dollar store or been dredged up from the bottom of some clearance craft bin where they'd been lying in wait for a decade or so.  So, I was prepared to do battle with this monster.  I had cleared my schedule and I had crafted a few creative swear word combinations for the occasion.  But, as it turns out, (and I hate to be anti-climatic here), it was an absolute dream.  Didn't even have to do that gently-peel-up-the-corner-and-check-if-it's-all-on-there-oh crap-it's-not-so-now-I-have-to-put-it-back-down-line-it-all-up-and-scrape-the-bejeebers-out-of-it.  Nope, just gave it a good rub, and it transferred so lickity-split that you would have thought it was a stamp. I'll just save those curse-combos for a different situation.  Believe me, they won't go to waste!

Why not join us for the challenge?  And be sure to also check out the fabulousness the DT has come up with.

What?!? Only One More Friday Between Now & Christmas Eve Eve?!? - Fab Friday @ Tiddly Inks

So, as the title suggests, we're running out of Fridays before Christmas.  In fact, this will be the last Fab Friday until the New Year as the Tiddly DT will be taking a bit of a break...though we will be having one last challenge.  (Come on back on Tuesday if you want to see what it's all about.)

Anyhoo, I'm in full Christmas card making mode.  Have been for awhile now.  How many am I up to...well, let's see.....27.  With (I think) seven more to go.  It's doable, it's doable.  (That's me reassuring myself so I don't panic.)

Well, at least this is one off the list....

I used a brand new image - Holly Molly.  Isn't she just beautiful?  I didn't intend to leave her hair white (with a bit of gray shading, of course) it kinda happened by accident when I coloured up the rest of the digi because I couldn't decided what colour to go with for her hair.  (I usually colour hair second, after skin.)  I thought white would be a great colour for a winter fairy, so white it was.

Managed to use another two of those word stickers., Not the same colour (and that green is a bit off-matched with the green on the patterned paper) but I think it works.  Gonna be sad when I can't make it work anymore with the words left!

Added some Wink of Stella to the wings, but you can't see that, of course.  Darn, shy Wink of Stella.

Make sure you go check out the other fabulous Fabby Friday makes the rest of the DT has come up with.  You can see 'em all right here.

Santa's Coming To Town @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying "Santa's Coming to Town" which means we want to see those projects featuring that jolliest of elves - Santa! Or, you could use a less than jolliest elf, like just a regular elf, too.

And that's what I ended up doing....

Now, I'm not saying that Santa isn't the elfiest of elves, he totally is, but if there's an elf in second place, it's gotta be this lil guy.  He's from Skapar Kallarn, and you can find the digis on Facebook or, to a lesser extent, the Etsy shop.  And look, he believes in Santa Claus.  Aw!

So, why not pull out those Santa &/or his elves images and head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up?  And, while you're there, be sure to check out the wonderful projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Winter Is Here @ Melonheadz Friends

For the next two weeks at

http://melonheadzfriends.blogspot.ca/

I guess we're going to go ahead and admit it - "Winter Is Here", though, we haven't had much in the way of winter 'round here as of yet. I'm not complaining! Hear that Mother Nature, not complaining at all so don't feel you need to drop the temps to -15ÂșC and dump two tonnes of snow of my head. I was just stating a fact.  (Edited to add:  The above was written on Saturday night...now we've got a blanket of snow on the ground.  So, yes, I guess winter is definitely here.)

Here's what I did....

Have to admit, I was pleased how this turned out.  Lil snowman has some actual snowballs to throw at people....made meself giggle with glee with this one, I did.  I used an image from the Bobbleheadz Snowman pack.  I've link you to the combo pack so you can get both the black & white AND coloured images.

So, why not celebrate snow and cold temps and enter the challenge? And be sure to check out what the rest of the DT has made.
