it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Leftovers!" which means that she wants to see something you started but didn't finish, or use something that was left over from another project. So fun!
This is what I did.....

For my leftovers....I had coloured up this image last year but it never made it onto a card and the card base was discarded in favour of a different colour from some long-ago card.
Now, my dear Readers, we've got to chat a bit about Stampendous's Spoonful of Snow embossing material. Do you see it there on my card? No? Well, if you were to come over to my house you could definitely see it all over my carpet. I bought the stuff....probably a couple of years ago.... and promptly forgot about it. Last week I did a desk clean up and a mini organization of just my Christmas supplies, found it, and vowed to use it on at least one card this year.....especially when I saw the price I paid for it. I thought it would be perfect on the patterned paper on this card, make it all really snowy and shimmery. Read the directions, (which were cute, most certainly) reread the directions.....heat from the underside, only gravity holds on the powder until it's melted....alrighty, got it.
Sprinkle, sprinkle, sprinkle.....plug in heat tool (which is your standard heat tool for embossing), turn it on and let it heat up for a few seconds, gently apply it to the underside of the paper.....and end up with a faceful of Spoonful of Snow.
I might've said a nasty word or two under my breath, I'll admit. (And only under my breath because Middlest was in the same room as me.) But, I wasn't ready to give up. I loaded up my paper again and headed into the kitchen and bee-lined it to the toaster. Ha, heat it up with no air moment whatsoever. That'll work, right? Wrong. I stood there holding my paper over the toaster....and holding it over the toaster.....and holding it over the toaster.....but nothing was melting. I thought maybe the paper wasn't getting hot enough so I touched the area I was heating.....and let me tell you....it was hot enough. So hot it startled me and I (you know what's coming here), dumped the Snow into the toaster. *sigh*
Still not ready to give up, I headed back into the family room, with my dog closely in tow because she now thinks I have toast. Give it another go with the heat tool.....slowly, holding it further away....and still no melting going on save for three or four flakes. And I gave it a solid try before getting impatient and moving the heat tool closer, but this time I dodged the blizzard of snow and let it pile up in a snowbank on the carpet.
And that's when I gave up. Just splattered on some white paint and called it gud'i'nuff. If any of you have ever used Spoonful of Snow or the like and would like to leave me a tip or two about it, please do. Because I would be willing to give it a go again. 'Cept maybe not over the toaster.
