Hop To It! @ Little Red Wagon

it's Kate's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying "Hop To It!" which just means she wants to see a project with something that hops. Hippity-hoppity!

This is what I did.....

As you can see, it's a slider so.....

That silly bunny!  It hopped to it right into a cup of tea.  Stamp is from The Cat's Pajamas.

And, when I saw this fitting piece of paper, I couldn't help but make an envelope too.....(full disclosure.....I found that piece of paper because I was looking for a fitting piece of paper because I wanted to make an envelope so my card would be eligible for the challenge at The Cat's Pajamas....)

I noticed that the patterned looked very much like mugs so I added some steam swirls to make it look like it was full too.....but more full of tea than bunny!  Pretty difficult to drink bunny I would imagine.

Happy Extraterrestrial Abductions Day @ Little Red Wagon

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's celebrating Extraterrestrial Abductions Day by going with an outer space theme. So fun!

I went with something different this time.....

See, not a card!  I used a pack of canvas stars I've had for a good, long time and got all mixed media with 'em.  First I got out my gesso.....and found out that it had almost solidified.  Turns out if you don't use a liquid medium for two or three years it'll dry out.  Huh, that's a shocker.  (Like my sarcasm font?)  I decided to just go with it (mostly because my nearest gesso and that type of product supplier is a good half and hour drive away) and just scooped it out of the jar and globbed it on with my hands.  Worked pretty good, more like texture paste than gesso but seeing as my texture paste is probably just as old it saved me from opening it and being stunned by its condition too.  While I was making a ridiculous mess doing that I discovered if I flipped the stars gesso side down and gave them a bit of a rub on the newspaper I was using to cover my work area then the newsprint would transfer to the stars.  Of course it's backwards but seeing as it's just a super boring story in my local paper it doesn't really matter. After that I just added some Distress Inks, stamping, some little gold puffy stickers and some Pitt pen outlines.  Then I trussed them all up with some twine.  Doesn't get much more outer space than stars, amirite?

Boyz II Men @ Little Red Wagon

I used some clip art to create this krafty card.  Super simple but I was happy with how it turned out.

Lions & Lambs (and other animals) @ Little Red Wagon

I've got hosting duties and the challenge is "Lions & Lambs (and other animals)" so, not only could you create something with lions or lambs, you could make a make with any animal that's wild/not a pet. So, pretty much any creature aside from cats & dogs or caged animals, or fish in a bowl etc. is in! We've made it easy for ya to join us this week.

This is what I did....

I went with this super sweet elephant from A Day For Daisies.  I left this sentimentless as I wasn't sure what I would end up using it for.....could be a baby girl card, could be a birthday card, could be a shower card, could be a PSA card on how to protect oneself from injury-inducing hearts (they do have that pointy end, after all) when they fall from the sky.  Just wanted to keep my options open.

Succulent Hues Colour Challenge @ Tiddly Inks

we've got a colour challenge for you. Here's the inspirational image....

....so all you need is to use those colours and a Tiddly Inks image and you're all good.

This is what I did....

....as you can see I did use some extra colours that aren't in the inspirational photo.  And my aqua is maybe a little too aqua.  But that's just me and colour challenges.  I either make crap cards or cheat.  I'll let you decide which way this one went.  (:

I used a page from the Everyday Fun Colouring Book, shrunk down to card size.  Love these ready made scenes.  It makes me want spring to come but I'm thinking that'll be a ways here yet.  That's okay though, as long as we get a spring.  There have been plenty of years where it's been basically winter into summer.  Hate that, it's certainly not fair if it snows in late April and is still 5ºC in May.  We went pretty much from fall into winter last year (in, like, October) so I'm hoping that means we'll be granted a spring.  Finger crossed!
