At Least 3 Flowers @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

the challenge is to use at least three flowers on your project. Now that's a really easy challenge for you.

This is what I did.....

It's hard to tell but the background has been sprayed with an olive mist. Digi is a freebie from The Digi Chick.

Those tulips remind me of spring. ("Oh spring, why have you forsaken us?" I cry as I look out the window this Monday evening whilst I schedule this post for Wednesday morning. Hopefully, by the time this posts goes live all the white stuff will have disappeared.)

So why not tiptoe through the tulips (or the flower of your choice) and head over to Little Red Wagon and enter the "At Least 3 Flowers" challenge? And be sure to check out the fabulous projects the other Girlfriends have done.

Yeeeeeeee-Haaaaaaaaaw!!!

Two reasons for my blog title. One - It's a shout out to Carolyn who spent some time recently under her mother's tutelage practicing her mad rodeo skills.....and two - I ALTERED SOMETHING!!

As you may have guessed from my excitement, I don't alter things. In fact, I have a cubby in my desk which is like an things-to-alter black hole. I buy things that I intend to alter and put them in there and they're never seen or heard from again.

Sadly though, this project is new stash and not one of the things from the cubby. Baby steps.

My Tower O' Spools is not very photogenic. Grrrrr.

Has A Pocket @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

the challenge is "Has A Pocket". So, what we want to see this week are projects with some sort of pocket on it.

I decided to go all-out pocket and I made a.......

....pocket card! Now this card went the usual way non-standard cards go for me - I botched my first attempt. I did find out something important about myself when I was making this card though. It turns out that when I want to say "aw f---" really loudly and my kids are around I'll actually say, "dammit" instead. Now I'm not one to encourage bringing out the potty mouth in front of children, but uttering a quasi swear word is soooo much better than dropping the f-bomb, don't you think?

The fabby flower digi is a freebie from MelonHeadz. Man, I do get a kick out of those bees on the patterned paper. The expression they have on their faces is priceless.

So why not head over to Little Red Wagon and enter the "Has A Pocket" challenge? And for some other ideas about how to incorporate a pocket into your pocket be sure to check out the fabulous projects the other Girlfriends have done.

Scrapfest - A Farm Show but with cool stuff

So, have you ever been to Scrapfest? I attended my first this past weekend. I was a bit overwhelmed at first but then drove right in and spent some mon-ey.

I went on the Friday evening which meant I couldn't take my kids because I would have had to buy them tickets too. (Oh darn, 'cause that's just what you want when you're shopping for scrappy goodies, kids whining saying they're bored and asking "wheeeeeeen caaaaaan weeeeeeee goooooooooooooooo.")

When I got home and my boys were asking about it (though they were more interested in the fact that it was being held at the same arena that the Kitchener Rangers play at) they just weren't getting my explanation of "it was a whole bunch of craft stores in one spot" (which sounded pretty darn self-explanatory me). Finally I said, "It was like a Farm Show.....but only with much better stuff." They got it then, though I did have to hear about how it definitely didn't have better stuff.

While I was at Scrapfest I definitely did pick up some cool stuff. One being a pack of Kraft-Core cardstock. This stuff is awe-some. And look what I did with it.

Got that wooden pennant and the umbrella charm at Scrapfest too.

Halfway Inspiration @ UnstampaBelles

Well, we're about midway through the month so it's time for some more inspiration for April's UnstampaBelles challenge. Remember, we want to see projects using the colours of your country's flag. (You can use black and/or white too even if it's not one of your flag's colours if you like.) And our bonus technique this month is a fun one, shaped cards. And, as always, no stamps allowed.

So, here's another red & white (with a little black) creation.

I did some misting/masking, used a nestie die and a rub-on...easy-peasy! (We won't dwell on the two other cards that didn't make it to completion seeing as they had a horrible case of the uglies.)

So, why don't you shove those stamps aside for just one card and show your patriotic pride and enter the "Colours of Your County's Flag" challenge at UnstampaBelles. You have until May 4th do do so and you'll have a chance to win a prize from the Sticker Store.

Can't wait to see what you create!

Spring Palette @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

the challenge is "Spring Palette". So, what we want to see this week are projects using those colours associated with spring, like pastels in blue, green and pink.

Okay, I do know that Easter is actually over but I couldn't resist using this project as my example for this challenge.....

Yep, it's a banner! Here's some closer shots.....

Sorry about the not-so-nice photos. There's not a lot of natural light where the banner is hanging so I had to use the flash. Just for the record, that's the banner's shadow on the wall behind it, not dirt. My wall's not that dirty. Well, it's not that dirty there. If you were to look about a foot down from the banner and slightly to the left, you could definitely find some dirty wall there. That seems to be a prime touch-the-wall-with-grimy-kids-hands spot. But behind the banner, yep it's fairly clean.

So why try to put us in the spring spirit (please, please 'cause there's snow on the ground here this morning!!) and head over to Little Red Wagon and enter the "Spring Palette" challenge? And be sure to check out the fabulous projects the other Girlfriends have done.

Happy Easter!

I thought I'd show the last few Easter cards I did for this year.

First, with a digi from Birdie Brown, a standard, garden variety Easter card. Look at those bunnies, standing there all innocent and cute looking at the butterflies. Little do they know that any minute one of them is going to try to smack them in the face. (At least that's what the butterflies around here spend their lives plotting.)

Okay, moving on. Here's another cutesy one.

Digi was a freebie from MelonHeadz.

Next up....this is the Easter card I made for my husband.

Not exactly Easter colours, not exactly an Easter feel...but I did put Happy Easter inside so that, obviously, makes it an Easter card. Digi is from Bugaboo Stamps.

So there you go, dear readers. I hope you have a wonderful Easter.

And remember, if you can't eat all your Easter chocolate, it will keep in the freezer. But if you can't eat all your chocolate.........what's wrong with you?

What's that in the sky?

It's a bird....it's a plane......it's a bunny in a plane!! And look, he's wishing you a Happy Easter.

I tell you, I'm getting sick of making Easter cards. Only one more to go, thank goodness.

Digi is from Zlatoena Designs.

April Showers Bring May Flowers @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

the challenge is "April Showers Bring May Flowers." So, what we want to see this week are projects with an umbrella on it.

Here's mine....

Digi is from Stamp Fairy.

I'm liking the left side of my card, not too crazy about the right. Feel free to hold your hand up to your screen and block out what you don't like, that's what I do. (But if you're blocking out the whole card you might just want to go ahead and go see what's happening on another blog. Might I suggest the other Little Red Wagon girlfriends? I'm positive there will be no selectiveness needed while viewing their fabulous creations.)

So why dance through the puddles on you way over to Little Red Wagon and enter the "April Showers Bring May Flowers" (use an umbrella) challenge? If you're a Featured Project you can snag our snazzy badge for your blog.

You know you want it. :-)

Colours of Your Country's Flag @ UnstampaBelles

This month at UnstampaBelles we want to see projects using the colours of your country's flag. (You can use black and/or white too even if it's not one of your flag's colours if you like.) And our bonus technique this month is a fun one, shaped cards. Just remember you can use any products you want to create any kind of papercraft you want......as long as you don't use stamps.

I'm Canadian so that means it's all red and white for me. I did add a bit of black just 'cause I couldn't seem to make it work as well without it.

See, easy-peasy. This could have been one of the fastest cards I'd ever made if only I hadn't messed up and done the colours backwards at first. Still it did go together really quickly. (I love it when I plan comes together. And I said that without the giant stogie clenched between my teeth.)

So, why don't you shove those stamps aside for just one card and show your patriotic pride and enter the "Colours of Your County's Flag" challenge at UnstampaBelles. You have until May 4th do do so and you'll have a chance to win a prize from the Sticker Store.

And if you need some more inspiration, head over to the challenge site and check out all the great projects the other dt members have come up with.
