It totally does, I'm afraid. Almost always. I know, I'm a sick, deranged individual. I don't know why I can't keep my thoughts out of the gutter.

The humour gutter, that is. I know, they say puns are the lowest form of humour. But I honestly can't help myself, they just pop into my head.

Well, it looks like I got me a card already made for school-year end in 2015. I made this card for my daughter to give to her teacher......but in the end we both decided that it was just too girly for a male teacher. And, I don't think either of my boys will want to give it to their teachers, even though they are women. So, into the cardbox it goes.

The Right (Crafty) Place At the Right (Crafty) Time

Whew! What? Aw, thank you, dear Reader, for inquiring as to why I seem tired/relieved. Our business's most busiest time is late spring and it's finally starting to calm down. So, I feel like I can take a breath, kwim? Also, it means I get to take back a bit of my Thursday, which I normally have off. I am going to have to do some work yet today, but for right now, I do have time to sneak in this post.

Okay, so back to my title. I have a drawer crammed full of embellishments. And, I'm certain I'm not the only one.  *points finger accusingly at all the other crafters out there*  Thing is, I don't really use 'em. I see them, love them, buy them, and into the drawer they go, and are usually forgotten about.

Well, when I was making the card before this one I was looking for some specific embellishments. ('Cause "really don't use 'em" doesn't equal "never".) And, of course the ones I wanted weren't right on top so I had to pull everything out of the drawer and pile it all up on my sewing desk in order to find what I was looking for.

And that, my friends, is how I came upon my favourite thing about this card. Because if I didn't have to put all the stuff back in the drawer in order to be able to use my sewing machine, I would have never remembered that I had these certain embellishments (especially seeing as they were some of the first I ever bought). And I would have never thought to do this......

......put birthday hats on a cow's horns.  Tee hee hee, that cow is wearing birthday hats.  (Yes, I am aware of how geeky I am.)

I am also aware of how geeky my love of puns/plays on words makes me.

Wedding @ Little Red Wagon

it's Joanne's turn to choose the challenge and she went with a wedding theme. 'Tis the season I guess.....ah weddings. If you're a regular reader you know I'm not a fan. All that sitting still, having to get dressed up, small talk with acquaintances and family you never see, running out of Candy Crush lives right at the beginning of speeches....*sigh*

But I do like making wedding cards. Guess I'm just an old romantic softie after all. *snort*

Digi and sketch (albeit loosely based) are from Tiddly Inks.  Tried something a bit different with this one and coloured everything, including hair and skin, in shades of gray.

A minute or two of free time....

Well, we had a wickedly wild rainstorm roll through here about an hour ago, accompanied by lots of wind and a tornado warning. No damage here, one branch down and I will need to pick some patio furniture out of the field. Oh, and a plastic watering can that had blown into hubby's parking spot got flattened when he drove over it, much to the delight of my youngest two who were watching out the window. Lots of raucous laughter from the younglings followed that incident, as you can imagine.

Sun's out here now but the major doing of this storm was the effect it had on ball for the family tonight. I cancelled the practice for my son's team (I'm coaching them); dd's practice was cancelled and my game, which was to be at 9:00pm got (prematurely) cancelled as well.

So, as the title suggests, I have a scant bit of time this evening, which is a rarity for me. I figure it's the perfect opportunity to post this tardy Father's Day card.

And here it is.....

I combined two MelonHeadz freebies and coloured 'em up to look like my three kiddos. The sentiment like that has soooooo much more to do with the fact that they don't call their Dad "father" but "Dad" and much less to do with the fact that I didn't have any alpha stickers that were small enough to get the word "father" on that speech bubble, not to mention that fact that none of them come with an apostrophe. Yeah, definitely that first one.

And finally, if anyone happens to look at the time this was posted.....yeah well, I had gotten up to the end of that last paragraph and that was the end of my "minute or two". Plus Stoopid Blooger decided it wasn't going to upload my photo. So, that made "...roll through here about an hour ago" actually more like four and a half hours ago.

But, you get the picture.

Teacher Appreciation @ Little Red Wagon

I'm running late this week as my original idea for this just didn't pan out. Well, that's not quite true.....I was going to show you what I did for teacher gifts this year.....pots with flowers/plants in them with a sign that says, "Thanks for helping me grow." Buuuuuuuut, when I realized that it wouldn't look like much of a project if I didn't include said flowers/plants in the pots, aaaaaaaaand in order to show that I would have to keep all that flora alive and in pretty shape for over two weeks.....weeeeeeeeeeeellllll, let's just say I went ahead and whipped up this last minute card instead.

Kids and Their Short Forms

I wouldn't call myself a language snob, but I am a bit of a pronunciation stickler, especially seeing as the hubby's family is terrible at it ("I cut the lawnd today" - eeesh!) so I work at making sure my kids don't pick up those habits. But when it comes to using short forms or "teenspeak" or whatever you want to call it (words like cray-cray or totes), while it might not sound very harmonious to my ears, I tend not to bother making comment.

However, I did have to put the kibosh on one particular short form my kids were using to describe one of their favourite activities as I was hearing phrases like this.....

"Want to go on the tramp?"
"All day at school I was just thinking about getting home so I could jump on the tramp."

And the one that had me snicker-groaning on the inside for a good long while....

"How come you always get to go on the tramp first? It's not fair! I want to get on the tramp first too sometimes."

Upon questioning it turns out that even my oldest (who's 13) thinks the word "tramp" is indeed just a short form for trampoline. Of course they want to know why they can't use the word "tramp" anymore. (I told them I'd explain it when they are older.) And since they're my kids once they found out there was some (snicker-worthy) reason they shouldn't be saying "tramp" it just made them use it more. But, hopefully it might make them think twice before they declare at school in front of their teacher, "What did I do last night? I spent most of the night on the tramp."

I do have a card, of course. And I can actually tie it in with what I was talking about seeing as it has to do with jumping.....

....see, hoppy birthday, frog, jumping. It all comes together.

2 Stamps, 3 Cards

Now, I usually use a stamp only once. Really, there's soooooooo many fabulous digis out there, I want to get to play with them all. But, I made an exception in this case as I have five Father's Day cards to make and the Father's Day digis that Christy from Tiddly Inks just released (that are only $1.00 each!!) are so versatile that I just went ahead and whipped up three out of the five.

And here they are.....

I printed My Dad's Truck with the sentiment in a brown colour went from there.....

This time I merged My Dad's Truck (without the sentiment) with My Dad's Tree....

And finally, I used both images again but separately this time as the tree is in the background and the truck is adhered onto the popped up frame.

Bam!  Told you they were versatile.  :-)  

Food For Thought @ Little Red Wagon
