Love It! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Imke's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Love It!" which means that she wants to see projects that are all about the luuuuuurrrrve. And with Valentine's Day (retch) not to long behind us, it's nice to show that love can be celebrated everyday, not just on February 14th.

This is what I did.....

I used yet another of my The Cat's Pajamas winnings.  And I'm gonna say it again, I love these stamps.  This sweet bear is definitely showing the love with that big heart.

I tell ya.....I've really gotta try to use something other than my go-to sketch from time to time.  Only problem is that I really like this layout, and it's quick and easy.  Lemme just take a look and see how often I've used it as of late....*scrolls back over posts*.....hmmmmm, maybe it's not as bad as I thought.  Still, nothing wrong with shaking things up, right?  (But I'll have to wait for a week or so before I try something different.....hard to make that resolution when there's a chance your next project, might just possibly, use the same layout.)

Baby, It's Cold Outside! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Kate's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Baby, It's Cold Outside!" which means she wants to see those winter projects.....you know, the ones that make you say "brrrrrrr!"

Winter has been all over the place in mid-western Ontario this year. From enough snow to cancelled  buses & school closures to raining the day. Temps have been bouncing up and down....oh well, that's Ontario winters for ya. I'm not whining about it yet. It's still February, and we've still got a least another month before any of us 'round here can start begging for spring.

And besides, when you can use super cute images like this.....

....why wouldn't you want to celebrate winter? Digi is from Mo's Digital Pencil.  As you can see I embossing the entire image with a snowflake folder.....and I tried to angle it to strategically place the snowflakes.....but ended up having the biggest one on the whole durn folder right in the middle of the lil guy's face.  I flattened it, which looks a lot better but it's still noticeable.  I doesn't look like the tiny bean minds.  And if they don't mind then I shouldn't either, right?

Move On! @ Little Red Wagon

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Move On!", and she doesn't mean she wants you to get outta here, she just wants to see projects that have some sort of interactive feature. So, think shakers, pop ups, sliders or maybe even....

a reveal wheel card!  My first one ever.  I gotta admit, it was easier than I thought it was gonna be.  When I was going along making it, and everything was going swimmingly, I kept saying to myself, "Okay, so when am I going to mess this up?  There's no way I'll get it done without making some sort of stupid mistake....."  And I did, of course.  When I stamped the sentiments on the wheel, inside my very carefully traced circles, I just stamped them all parallel to the bottom.  Of course, when you turn the wheel, the words ended up sideways and upside down, save one.  That wasn't a big deal though, just die cut another scalloped circle, traced the openings again and lightly wrote the words inside the next time so I'd know which way to stamp 'em.  Easy-peasy!

I am kicking myself for not thinking to paper piece the balloon and then die cut the wheel out of the same paper though.  I think that would have taken the card up a notch, don't you?  Next time, for sure.

Oh, and here's a craptastic video of how it works.  Sorry, I should have conscripted a child-o'-mine enlisted an aide to help film it.  Still, you get the idea.

Hello, Sweetie! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's my turn to choose the challenge and I'm saying, "Hello, Sweetie!". And if that doesn't immediately make you think of a certain British tv show.....well, I guess you're just not a Doctor Who fan then. (: While you'd certainly get tons of extra points from me if you make something Doctor Who related, what I'm actually looking for is anything sweet. So, a sweet image, sweet treat, sweet as a theme or even just the word sweet in the sentiment. As long as you can tell me why you think it's sweet, it's all good.

This is what I did.....

I used another stamp from my The Cats Pajamas winnings. I do love these stamps. The images are so super fun and cute (and sweet!) and they stamp beautifully.  As you can see I've got a sweet bear, holding a pot of honey, telling you all how sweet you are.  Oh, and that tiny heart button....that's sweet too!  Quadruple sweetness!

ATCs @ Tiddly Inks

This month at

we're doing something super fun....we want to see ATCs! All you need to do is use a Tiddly Inks image, make your make 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" (or 3 1/2" x 2 1/2") and you're in!

This is what I did.....

I used the houses in the Harmony At Home set. And I went mixed media for a change.  I quite enjoyed making this.  I love the look of mixed media but don't often do it as I don't like to get "messy".  But, this time it wasn't too bad.  Maybe that's because the really the only "messy" was the white & black paint splatters.  Background is embossed and sanded cardstock, and the rest is just computer ink and coloured pencils.  Not too hard, but fun, for sure!
