For the next two weeks at
we're celebrating the sunniest season of all, summer! We want to see those summertime makes, using a Tiddly Inks image, of course.
This is what I did....
I know it's not your typical summer beach scene or the like, but fishing is a big summer pastime, right? I'm declaring it a summer card anyways. Used some ancient Authentique paper on this, loved almost every bit of this when it came out....now I'm down to just scraps, which I should make an attempt to use. I also used the fabulous Wryn - Fishing Expert digi. There's also a Ricky - Fishing Expert too if you're looking for a boy version.
I made a card using Ricky back in 2012. You can see it here if you're interested. Reason I bring it up is because when I decided to make a card using Wryn fishing I couldn't get some of the same design elements out of my head. That's why I ended up using old paper, it's from the same line as what I used before....I even used cattails this time around too. Does that ever happen to you? You find yourself going along the same lines when using the same (or almost the same) stamps? That's one of the things I love about digis, I guess....they're so inexpensive that you don't feel guilty about using 'em only once. So, I don't often fall into the aforementioned trap as I don't generally use the same digis over and over again. But, when I do, they're usually Tiddly Inks. :-)
So why not celebrate the season of warm & sunny and enter the challenge? And be sure to also check out the fabulousness the DT has come up with.
Also for:

As You Like It: trademark style - My trademark style.....I usually go for "cute" with bold coloured patterned paper, and lots of it! I'm also a very clean & layered cardmaker.
The Crazy Challenge: summer fun
A Snowflake's Promise: summertime
Crafty Sentiments: anything goes

Great card (ask me if I love the paper? YES!!!) and I think it's a very summer-ish card. I mean, she isn't out ice fishing, that's for sure. I hear ya' on the digis and I so agree. Plus, I tell myself with digis I save doubly as I mess up less – thus less wasted paper and ink – it's rare I get a rubber stamp right the first time.
