I Believe In Unicorns - Fab Friday @ Tiddly Inks

Yep, I do believe in unicorns.....I just wish they would have gotten on that darn boat when they were supposed to.....you know, along with the green alligators and long-necked geese, some humpty-backed camels and some chimpanzees, some cats and rats and elephants.....

I used Lovely Unicorn.....and there's a bunch of extras with it, including a super cool YOUnicone....which I do wish I had used instead coz it's so cool.  But this was the one I had printed out, and the computer was being used for homework (which kinda trumps crafty-time) so I coloured it up.  Those stitched tree were in my you-bought-it-you're-gonna-use-it-before-it-gets-put-away-pile so that, along with the fact that I do like how this turned out, made for happy crafty-time indeed.  Yay!

Do make sure you go check out the other fabulous Fabby Friday makes the rest of the DT has come up with. You can see 'em all right here.

  1. This card highlights your awesome design skills, Jan. Now, you see I would never have thought to place your trees like that, or the pink waves, or the 'believe' as you have done, but it all works together so well!!! The coloring of your unicorn matches your paper choices perfectly. A truly wonderful card!!!

  2. Jan R - oh my, it is so much fun to visit your blog and leave a comment like this. I have been an admirer of yours for a while and it thrilled my socks off when you left comments on my blog in my early years as a card-maker!! Thanks! On top of that, I love your humor and writing style!

So it's my turn to comment on your lovely pastel, flowing-haired unicorn. She's a beauty! Love her face and the color choices for her hair. Your stitched detail throughout the card brings some fun visual interest, as does the off-set way you attached your unicorn! The iridescent "believe" is magical!! Thanks for entering your card in our "Make You Mark" challenge on the Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge Blog this week. Hugs to you! Cathy

  7. ok obvs i'd love any card that could be introduced by the first verse of an irish rovers song, lol!!!!! :) :) :) but in fact i love unicorns AND this particular card AND the fact that you made it for our KIDDO challenge at SOS! ♥♥♥

(jeff was talking about unicorns the other day... pointing (no pun intended) out that we still have A LOT of un-extinct animals with two horns in various styles, not to mention one-horned rhinos and NARWHALS which have essentially the unicorn style horn, but can SWIM... and apparently there are now more extinct species than extant, though it's hard to see how that can be right or exactly how one would know that, but hey, i'm not sciencey so let's just say it's not IMPOSSIBLE that unicorns might've been real, k?) ♥

Okay, so ever since I started my blog (well, maybe not right from the get-go, it was probably a good six months or so before I realized you could change it from just "Leave your comment") I've tried to come up with something witty to type here.

*sitting with brow furrowed in concentration*...*staring at the ceiling while pursing lips*...*resting with head on hand while tapping foot*...

Nope, I still got nothing.
